Several times now I've heared that the xp pro wasn't as stable as xp home and thus not as good a choice for a small home user.
Is there truth in this claim?

Becoming one with your sword means not becoming / one with your soul realizing who you already are / everything / that there is nothing to become.
No truth at all. Go for XP Pro if you can.

There are no stability issues with Pro as far as I'm aware, but there aren't a lot of gains either. If there is no or little price difference go with Pro, but you're unlikely to miss any features if you end up with Home.
