I also took the SAT when it was under the old 1600 system. Honestly didn't study at all, and almost missed the test because I was hungover and slept in a bit. Managed to pull a 1340, even 670 in reading and math. Some people are just naturally smart, some need to study to do well, and others get real lucky.
