Default Trying to find a movie.

Hi question for you movie watchers out there.

There is a movie like this based in WW1 but in color about a (brigade/patrol/group) trapped in the forest I saw a few years back(when I was 7) The movie had a plane flying over head the soldiers keeping the commanders informed until he is killed at the end of the movie. Maybe one of you would know the name?

Its a War flick, and I think it was world war one.

Also its not The lost patrol (1934) I think it might be newer and may be about ww2

If I can remember more details I'll post them but google has lead me to no avail

Hey guys great job on the last movie.

Now im looking for a new one

It happens to have been made 1998 about a producer who gets government funding to make a far left play. There's more info to this but im asking for a friend and forgot most of what he set for it.

Cradle Will Rock. 1999, not 1998, but I'm almost positive that's what you're talking about.

    A couple of Vietnam movies.

Film A I think is a 1980s movie, maybe 1970s, set in Vietnam. A cameraman is going out with an American patrol. There are all the archetypes of the genre. The film ends with the remains of the patrol getting to a clearing with waiting helicopters, while under attack, and not all of them get on before the choppers go (but the cameraman does). The film is filmed entirely from the cameraman's POV.

Film B is an odd one. It's split into at least two parts. The first part takes the American POV. I can't remember much of it, but the segment ends with someone being sniped while at base, then everyone gets under cover and calls on the heavies to deal with the sniper. The second part takes the Vietnamese POV. A Vietnamese boy experiences all kinds of stuff, until he picks up a rifle and stakes out the local US base. He shoots someone before his grandad can stop him, then the segment ends with them waiting for the air strike the base has called on them.

For some reason I associate it with Hammer Horror, but it might have been an Alfred Hitchcock Presents kind of short film.

Ok, that's stumped me. Do you remember if it was in black and white? If so, based on the ending, it sounds like something from original Twilight Zone or Outer Limits television shows (or Hitchcock, as you suggest). If it was in color, I would guess the new versions of the Twilight Zone or Outer Limits, with Tales from the Crypt and The Ray Bradbury Theater as other options.

The reasoning for this is that the ending you describe is a non-Hollywood (read: unhappy) ending. While they have been used from time to time, they are rare today and even rarer in older films. However, this kind of ending is very typical of horror genre short stories, and thus became common in television shows and movies which were themselves simply anthologies of those short stories. The above listed programs are the most prominent ones I can think of that fit the bill.

bah I had the answers for the first few but came too late. 84 charlie mopic was epic back in the day and loved it. As for the last one, it really does sound like an episode of Outer Limits, but those came on past my bed time so I only got to watch them when Dad let me stay up late when mom worked over nights.

Since I just saw this topic and this board being as international as it is, I thought I try finding out the title of a movie I hadn't thought about some time

I saw this movie on an Eurolines bus trip from Riga to Berlin, I think it was in partly in Russian, partly in some other other eastern european language. Being german I didn't understand a thing. Anyway this movie I think is set in WWII and somewhere in the tundra or siberia or something similiar and its about two opposing soldiers somehow being left by there respective army, I think they both been wounded and so they find themself being nursed by a native woman. I think one of them was a member of the red army and the other an eastern european nazi sympathiser, probably something baltic. So these two are at the opposing ends of an ideoligy and don't understand what the other one is saying and still have to try to get along with each other while living with this native women, which they get pregnant eventually and a lot of other strange things happen.

Well as I said I didn't understand a thing they were saying let alone the subtitles, but I remember being totally drawn in by the story and watching the movie all the way through, so natuarlly I like to know the title so I can try and find it somerwhere to watch it again.

    Hope someone here can help.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure this is not an original B&W Twilight Zone episode. I've seen all the old ones and there was a marathon on Sci Fi last year that I caught about 75% of them again. Actually you can watch them all online (legally); I've lost that link but it shouldn't be hard to check.

It could be an Outer Limits plotline.

Go thread necromancy! I command thee rise!

So here's another brain buster for our fantastic movie goers.

I'm looking for a movie that starts off with two older brothers giving their younger brother a hard time, IE throwing firecrackers into a pool while he is tied to a chair at the bottom of it. The movie is about going into the wild and filming it, during the movie they meet crocodile man and a group of not so friendly bears. It's name continues to allude me, but I know the beginning song is born to be wild.
