Thread: Campaign map slowdown

    Default Campaign map slowdown

Hi peoples, i have just picked up Medieval 2 kingdoms on sale (prolly cause of ETW). I played Medieval 1 forever and loved it.

My problem is when i scroll around the campaign map it hits a massive slowdown over the french region and any actions in this area take an incredibly long time. My mouse cursor is slow and troops move really slow.

When i scroll to the edge of the map its fast again.

I though it was maybe a patch issue so i D/L 1.2 but the game says its running 1.3.

    Its not my PC:
    Q9450
    ATi 4870
    500GB hd
    4gb Ram
    Vista 32bit
this plays all other newer games just fine.

I dont have any slowdown in battles/sieges etc, just campaign map only.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the game is frustrating me now.

I had a similar experience. Vista can easily use a USB Flash Drive as extra virtual RAM, so I got an 8 GB drive for a few US dollars. When you plug it in, just set it to be extra RAM (I think it is called readyboost) and boom. Everything in the game works faster.

Sometimes good people must kill bad people to protect the rest of the people.
