    It can also be said that his inactivity is an explanation for not having a role, it's suspiciously coincidental perhaps - but it's by no means 'conclusive'.

    My thoughts exactly... could it be possible that the people who are still alive and not in BG's list have been slipping under the radar and havent been given enough attention? this is my first game... and the only people who have escaped being lynched are the ones who have been mostly quiet but not inactive enough to WOGed...

    or Beskar has been so loud that he has been a real distraction - and it has helped people stay below the radar...
    i just wish we had lynched him long back and just gotten over with it

    It is not my fault people are thinking I am guilty. They should reconsider and actually go after the mafia.

    Actually, yes it is your fault. Excessively repeated claims of innocence is a very suspicious behaviour and this "rule" has been mentioned a few times, yet you continue to behave in accordance with the suspicious action cited in the "rule". If you are a loyal townie, you can see this undue focus on you is detrimental to our cause and you should therefore cease that activity and focus your energies towards something more helpful to us.

    Hey, it is my first mafia-forum game. In the real-life version, if you attempt any lurking or actually don't take the game seriously, you get lynched faster a digimon fan at a pokemon convention. There are many reasons to why this is, ranging from "being an easy target" afterall, people don't want to be kicked from the game (in real life version, when you die, you become a spectator) and not actually defending your corner means you are a weak target, thus, you go out of the game.

    This also ensures there is active participation and people actually playing the game, opposed to this game where half of those alive haven't posted anything significant since "I would like to join this game".

    There is also the golden rule "Everyone is innocent". In other words, if you don't act if you are innocent, you must be trying to do an WIFOM, thus get lynched.

    So with all the various information, I am not actually that suspicious at all. However, there are people who go "*shrug* I don't care if you lynch me" "*inactive*" are in no way classed as valid targets? It is a complete opposite and contrast, they wouldn't even get past the beginning rounds.

    A few of the lynches on the otherhand as well, were completely slimy. "LOL, he is a good player, just lynch him!" does take a whole huge element out of the game.

    I forget that you are a noobie too. I still stand by my point, but should have taken a softer tone. I wonder about your last point as well.

    ~~~ Swords in the Moon ~~~
    Night 10 - Conclusion
    Hour of the Rat
    Yamashita Tadayoshi (ajaxfetish) walked towards his room. He had a smile on his face. Tonight, he would kiss his beloved Aiko for the first time! He didn't realize that his nightly behaviour was rather odd, to say the least, but so far, nobody really noticed anything.
    He had been writing letters to virtual persons, that never got sent, he had been sending prayers to the mighty kami of the mountain, he had been dreaming about a woman that didn't exist. Was it his way to deal with the current situation? Creating a dreamworld where he could lose some tension?
    Last night, he had been sitting in his room, playing a game of Macala with an imaginary person. During the day, he had had this look in his eyes, the look of a man who was fallen in love.
    Now, as many a veteran samurai knows, falling in love with a woman during a siege wasn’t uncommon. But those kinds of relationships weren’t exactly platonic. And they occured between real people, not between samurai and non existant women!
    While Yamashita was busy talking to his pillow, picking it up and kissing it passionately, the shadow entering his room raised an eyebrow. He looked at the samurai and observed the somewhat strange behaviour. He shrugged.
    Yamashita was kissing fair Aiko. After 10 days of carefully trying to seduce the girl and getting the approval of her parents and his master, finally there was the reward: a kiss! And apparently, his beloved Aiko was as passionate about him as he was about her. And he never would have thought that she would turn out to be such a great kisser!
    He felt two hands on his neck. They were strong! He came more and more satisfied with his Aiko. Not only was she a passionate kisser, she was also a strong woman! Their sons would become mighty samurai!
    Yamashita got brutally kicked out off his dreamworld when the strong, dark gloved hands twisted his head with enormous force, breaking his neck with a sickening sound.
    The killer left the room unnoticed.
    ~~~

    Hour of the Rat

    Abe Ritsu (Chimpyang) was furious! This was sheer idiocy! There he was, standing guard in the freezing cold, no fire, because “that would blind your eyes and you won’t notice an attacker coming near”. What attacker?! The mountain passes were blocked by snow and the enemy was to be found inside! Ha! He wouldn’t be surprised if the officer giving this nonsensic orders would turn out to be a murderer himself.

    And so he was standing guard, outside the gates of the yashiki, raging and cursing.

    Abe Ritsu! You shouldn’t question your orders! That brings bad karma.”

    Abe turned around and he saw a man coming near.

    “Hey there. But you’ll have to admit that this is sheer idiocy. It’s impossible to get through the mountain passes now and why would a killer take a walk outside if he can do his dirty work in the warm yashiki?”

    The other samurai shrugged.

    “Maybe, but then again, a lone guard standing outside makes an ideal target.”

    “Yeah, indeed. That shows that it’s even more idiotic to put somebody out here alone.”

    “You’re not alone, at the moment,” the other samurai replied.

    “Yes, I feel much better now. It’s nicer to be standing here with two. What idiot sent you to stand guard here?”

    The other samurai shrugged. “Nobody.”

    Abe looked surprised and stared at the other samurai as if he were insane. He then started to shake his head and spit on the ground. Suddenly, he realized something and he started to unsheath his katana. When he looked at the spot where the other samurai had been standing, there was nobody. He looked around him but all he saw was darkness.

    A moment later, a poisoned throwing knife pierced through his throat.

    The killer left the scene unnoticed.

    ~~~
    Hour of the Ox
    Kondou Itou (Tiberius of the Drake) went back to his room. He always hated it to stand guard, but with so many dead, everyone was bound to have at least one round of guard duty each night. He shrugged, those having to wake up in the middle of the night to take the second or third guard round were even more unfortunate than him.
    He giggled. If you wanted to hear alot of cursing, cursing that would even make the lowest prostitute blush, then you had to wake up a veteran samurai and tell him he had guard duty.
    Kondou put aside his swords and he undressed for the night. Exhausted as he was, he almost immediately fell asleep.
    A man carrying a dagger sneaked into the room. He watched his victim and made sure he was asleep. Silently, he came near. He pierced the knife through the throat of his victim, through his larynx, making it impossible for Kondou to make any sound. The killer then finished his job by piercing the dagger through Kondou’s right eye, right into his brains.
    He wiped the blade clean on the kimono of his victim and left the room.
    Day 10 – Seven Samurai
    Hour of the Rabbit.
    At dawn, the samurai gathered on the courtyard. They looked at each other and noticed that three of them were missing.
    7. Of Lord Shingen’s men, there were only seven left alive. Would they turn out to be magnificent?
    One of the oldest samurai wrote down the challenges that had been thrown out the previous day. He looked at the remaining samurai.
    "I’ll only need two straws today". He looked at the duelists. "Short straw will duel".
    Michishige Michiyo (Ichigo) looked at the straw in his hand. He nodded towards Chiba Tadayoshi (Beskar).
    The old samurai nodded towards both men: “No armor, no hidden wea…”
    “No hidden weapons, only katana and wakizashi, yeah, yeah. Do you think we are stupid?”, Chiba interrupted.
    The other samurai started to look a bit uncomfortable by this disturbing of the ritual. They hoped this wouldn’t bring bad karma over them.
    Michishige calmly unsheated his katana and looked at his opponent. Chiba on his turn, drew out his katana and immediately started to taunt his opponent, yelling profanities at him that would make prostitutes blush. Chiba yelled how he, the only remaining true innocent, would end this nonsense.
    While he was still yelling he stormed forwards, swinging his katana in the direction of Michishige’s neck. Michishige easily blocked this uncontrolled attack and stepped aside. Chiba was unbalanced, which allowed Michishige to give his opponent a nasty kick between the legs.
    Chiba moaned softly. Michishige tried to take advantage of the situation to end the duel quickly and struck with his katana, at his turn aiming for the neck of his opponent. Chiba managed to quickly jump aside and block the attack, the adrenaline pumping through his veins made him forget the pain in the lower part of his body.
    Chiba then attacked again. Michishige blocked the attack and quickly riposted, causing a severe injury. Chiba looked surprised at his chest and he started to cry.
    “I’m innocent! I’m innocent! You’re all idiots! Only an idiot would kill an innocent! Let me live! I'm innocent!”
    Chiba tried to turn around and to run away, much to his disgrace, but he stumbled. Michishige calmly came near and decapacitated his opponent.
    He nodded towards the body of his victim.
    It was picked up and put on a woodpile, along side the other three bodies of the previous night.
    While the stench of burning meat was surrounding them, the remaining samurai started to discuss.
    Interesting that the game is still going. If there were 3 mafioso alive, it would be over. In this regard I will again note that the rules say that the ninjas get 3 kills per night. The way it is worded seems to mean that they get 3 kills regardless of how many are left alive. Regardless, if this isn't just a narrative tactic to make the ending longer, this is definitely our last shot at it.
    Well, at least we won't be distracted with Beskar this round.
    Need to do a reread of everybody alive's posts.
    We need to be very careful with our challenges. If there are two ninja alive then even if we lynch one we lose...unless we beat the other in a challenge.
    There not being three ninja left changes things a lot. I assumed there were.
    Was Beskar a veteran? If so, Ichigo is the ninja master because he was very calm and always in control, as if Beskar was effortless to him.
    I am a young samurai, not a veteran. Looks like I am dead then, at least you would be satisfied that I wasn't a mafia afterall.
    Though, I am upset at how Andres made me look like a cry baby. :p
    I do not believe the ninjas would challenge unless they had to.
    GH- Is a "confirmed" innocent and he has challenged frequently.
    Kage- He is either messing with us or he truly didn't realize that Shingen was dead. I believe it is the latter and I also believe that Kage would have noticed if he was a ninja.
    Yoyoma1910- The haikus could be an easy way to mask mafia behavior but the only time I've seen him as a mafioso he was rather serious. His challenger died during the night.
    Ichigo- He has fought in two duels and does not appear guilty to me based on either the duel descriptions or his in-game behavior.
    Rhyfelwyr- He was in the early abstain bandwagon. He had retaliatory/defensive votes against Tincow and LittleGrizzly. In his favor, the kill choices seem more like that of a veteran. Also, GH survived through the night despite challenging Rhyf.
    vote: Yoyoma1910
    Rhyf, if you look at previous games I have played, you will see that this is just my style. For reference, Taormina is a large game in which I was a townie and Netherworld is a large game in which I was mafioso. I have played in other games and I encourage you to look at them too.
    Alive (6):
    GeneralHankerchief
    Ichigo
    Rhyfelwyr
    Kagemusha
    Yoyoma1910
    woad&fangs
    With so little of substance to go on, I leave it to chance to decide. I pull the Ace through 6 of Spades from a deck of cards, and say whoever gets 4, 5, or 6 is mafia. My able assistant certifies that I have not looked at the cards since shuffling. Lets see how I do guessing, using the cards:
    GeneralHankerchief - 4
    Ichigo - 5
    Rhyfelwyr - 3
    Kagemusha - 2
    Yoyoma1910 - A
    woad&fangs - 6
    The cards and I make w&f, Ichigo & GH guilty.
    Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
    Okay, I've tracked down 2 more games in which Yoyo was a baddie. These are Murder Manor II and Filet Royale. In both of those games he had a much more playful tone than in the Golden Rule. I now feel more confident about my vote on him.
    I keep thinking I'll do a reread but I can't find the time. I would say that woad and GH are almost certainly mafia. GH should be lynched and woad challenged.
    i believe there are a maximum of 2 ninjas still alive.... even if we lynch the correct person, 3 will be killed in the night..leaving 2 people alive and a mafia victory...so we need to get the duels right as well...i believe someone pointed this out already...
    actually my hope is that there is only one ninja alive and the town can win with the correct lynch target... but this seems far stretched...
    the mafia has played us well... we have absolutely no case against anyone...
    all we have is gut feelings and suspicions.... for my part i still think rhyf is mafia...he has been lurking for quite sometime and suddenly jumped on woad... maybe he wasnt able to maintain his silence with victory so close?
