    Night 2

It had been a harrowing day for most all of the inducted members of the Catalano family, Johnny Morganti (White_eyes:D) included. As someone who had slightly more responsibility than just following orders, someone charged with keeping track of men under him, he was feeling the weariness more than most.

Fighting the temptation to head straight home and go to bed, Johnny instead, as custom, went over with his men the details of the most recent events and handed down new orders. Finally, his eyes barely able to stay open, he ordered one of his men to drive him home and stumbled through the front door, collapsing onto his bed. He would get a good sleep tonight, yes.

Dead to the world for several hours, Johnny finally stirred later when a piercing siren broke the night's silence. Dismissing it, he quickly grew accustomed to the siren's noise and easily slid back to the world of dreams and stillness. However, a minute later, he was finally roused for good by the sound of his door crashing open. Dazed, Johnny didn't know how to react, only able to hear the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer.

Eventually, two policemen found his bedroom and of course him, holding his hands over his ears, still not quite fully awake.

"Johnny Morganti," said the lead cop, snapping handcuffs on, "You're under arrest for murder, armed robbery, and racketeering. You have the right to remain silent, and anything you say or do can be held against you in the court of law. You have the right to counsel..."

Johnny cursed under his breath, drowning out the cop's droning. There would be no nice, warm bed for him tonight.

Later that day, Don Giampetro, disturbed about the night's events, once again summoned the inducted members to a council, in the same secret location as the day before.

"Well gentlemen," he said, "Unfortunately for all of us, it appears as if I was correct and we do have a Stoolie or two among us. Therefore, there should not be much more dawdling. Please discuss amongst yourselves as before and present me a decision. I do not wish for the harassment and arrest of my men to continue for much longer."

Not sure why you'd expect reasons at this stage. We need to narrow down the suspect list and attempt to hit a mafioso. No Lynches will just allow the mafia to destroy us one at a time and we miss out on chances to hit them back. I tend to agree with Sasaki that last round's No Lynch was foolish, fuzzy math aside. You have to figure us wiseguys have a limited number of bullets to take out the traitors, and every bullet we waste is another proven mafia dead that night. We might miss and hit a mafioso, but the traitors won't miss; they WILL hit a mafioso. Our best chance is to take our chances and murdalyze someone.

No comment from Greyblades, NorthNovas, Navarro, Blackadder, or Split; all of them having been active since the writeup. Interesting.

Your post was a very enjoyable read in that you referred to everyone as a mafioso

I'm of two minds about the no-lynch option though - on the one hand, it gives us additional time for discussion and possibly investigation, while on the other hand of course it allows the stoolies to take us out without a risk of them being lynched.

While Sasaki is correct in saying that having an odd number is preferrable, voting no lynch for 2 days does the same, and gives us a net of +1 round.

That is of course assuming we do indeed have a detective who can use that extra time.
What we do know is that we have a protector, so he could keep the detective alive should we have one.

Hey, my role PM said I was a mafioso, and in parentheses, it said standard townie role. So the townies are the mafia and the mafia are stoolies working with the cops, which basically makes them townies, and even if they are stoolies, they still work for the mafia, just in traitorous fashion.

So, yes... we are all mafioso in this game. I was technically correct. just very confusing.

I'm very much against wasting our lynches. We have people already who are proven or suspected innocent, and some people who can defend themselves from murder. I say if we are going to "waste" anything it should be the traitors, via lynch.

I don't know if we have an investigator or not, but every night phase is almost for certain a dead "townie". I'd prefer that half of the deaths this game come from our own decisions and detective work, not from the cops picking us off one by one.

Hmm. I was kinda hoping for something that would count as a clue, or at least something a little more blatant.

The host did say there would be several unique roles, several meaning more than 2 or 3 I think that means that there are more roles than just the 2-3 squealers. I'm guessing that seeing as investigator roles are the simplest role available there is going to be at least one in this game, or this games equivelant seeing as he did say they would be unique. I could be wrong though.

Many hosts post no clues at all, especially if there is a detective. GH is "old school" and may not leave any clues.

The host did say there would be several unique roles, several meaning more than 2 or 3 I think that means that there are more roles than just the 2-3 squealers. My guess is some of the higher ups have defensive abilities. But in a game this small an investigator might be overpowered. Though I did consider the possibility of a detective earlier on in the game I think. We should proceed as if there isn't a detective, though; we can't count on one and one lucky shot means he's dead anyway.

Keep the game simple: you vote and you lynch a mafia. Unless there are lots and lots of power roles which can act against the cops as a group, which would also be overpowered, and seeing as this is a GH-style game I would say the odds of that are like the odds of me being quiet; we should pick someone and lynch them. Don't waste rounds, be they game turns or bullets.

One note about balancing, the mafia don't need to kill/arrest everybody to win. All they need to do is get the Don out of the picture. That said, it's going to be pretty difficult to do that without killing/arresting a lot of people first.

Well, you get one entirely wrong theory in your head, and you won't let it go. Hopefully when we are both dead and snickering a little bit (what, no kit kats?) you'll come up with plan B.

Question for pevergreen though: Why are you voting for beefy after the cops tried to arrest him?

Why do you say pevergreen will be snickering? You couldn't possibly know his role. Why did he say he thought you were innocent yesterday?

That's a definite connection--and since your tone is completely off my theory has a solid basis. Given the quote from you above and your vote for north, any complaint from you about my suspicions is hypocrisy

Yesterday I was suspicious of pizza's behavior, and of a possible link between the two. Pizza seemed resigned, and offered a double lynch--me and him. Today he offers pever and himself. Maybe he's resigned but wants to take someone down with him. Either way he's the better choice.
