    Default Problem PLaying MTW.

I recently installed MTW and tried to play it. When I start a campaign the game stops working and closes. I can get to the main menu and choose factions and eras if I want to but I can't play historical campaigns or battles.

When I first played it a small pop up asked me to choose something known as ffds I think. Could anyone help me with this?

MTW is notorious for not playing nicely with newer video hardware. What are your computer specs (video card, OS, etc.)?

Sounds like the same problem I have... hope you find a solution, and for your sake I hope not an ATI card.

I was thinking since it seems like a similar problem you may want to try some of these solutions listed in this thread.

Most ATI cards run MTW fine, it's the nVidia cards that have the most problems. I have run MTW with no problems on a Radeon 9700 Pro, x800, 1650, and a Mobility 4850. I think nVidia issues started with the 8800 series, there are a few things you can try. Check out this sticky.

Well What I mean is there are several ways/ and solutions to fix MTW problems for Nvidia cards, but very few for ATI cards...
So the fact that your card is Nvidia is a plus for you. Hope you find the solution drogba, happy conquering.

I think I'll throw in the towel on this one. Finally loaded campaign map to find out I can only move my troops around on battle map. *sigh*

Actually this problem sounds somewhat familiar to me... In search of trying to figure out how to get mine to work, I'd run across this problem in multiple forums... let me see if I can find out how to fix that...

    anyways this is the problem?

Can't move units in the battle?

This one didn't have a solution unfortunately, I thought I had seen one on it.. I will keep looking.

    To help identify the problem,
Does it allow you to select the unit and then just not move it?
or does it not even allow you to select/ click on the unit?
