I played it and it is the most tiring thing I've ever done. And it was just the indoor version!
But TBH it was the most fun I had in a while and I'm going to go do it every week
Yall have a convert!

I always found indoor soccer more tiring than outdoor...both are great fun though.

SPEECHLESS...
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.
The brilliant thing about footy is how cheap it is to play. After all the only thing you really need is a ball. I must have played it for thousands of hours and had great fun doing it.
Great to see we have another convert SFTS. :)
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Aye, all you need is a ball. That's the beauty of the sport. Any backyard or open space will do, and you can play it with any amount of people. One against one, two vs two, four against eightteen kids. With goals, with a wall, with any rules you like. It is always very tiring.
Strangely, I've never played football properly, on a real pitch, with goals and 22 players. I hated footbal when I was still at school. As a result, I'm rubbish at it.
I only ever play in a park. Where I think myself Zidane as I twist and turn and give countless great passes. Alas, my silly teammates never truly understand the greatness of my tactical insight and are never to be found where my brilliant passes are delivered.
I played a bit of Saturday afternoon amateur footy in my late teens. If the lads had been out on the lash the night before it always took on a interesting dimension. Try running about for an hour and a half with a bloody great big hangover. Kill or cure comes to mind. :o
I just remembered an funny occaison during that time.
Our centre forward (ahhh...those were the days) was a good player. If he'd kept off the beer and trained a bit harder he could easily have played for a league team. He liked his ale and women (as you do) too much though. Anyways one game we were up Blackburn way on an away fixture. The game had settled down and was a bit boring to be honest. Then with a great one-two our centre forward found himself mano e mano with the goalie.
With mounting exitement I watched as he swerved past the 'keeper and thundered towards the open goal. All he had to do was tap it in! Wait! No! He just stopped running and feel onto his knees. WTF!
He started shouting "mushroom! magic mushrooms!" and started picking them in the five yard box. We all ran up to him and a sure as eggs is eggs there was a great big patch of liberty caps. Half the team started picking them while the ref was running about his arms flailing and constantly blowing on his whistle. It turned into something resembling an Ingmar Bergman movie. Just surreal. I've never laughed so hard during a game.
I still chuckle when I think of it. :)

Indoor football/soccer is much more tiring than full 11 a side as you never really get a break, you pretty much have to be on the move the whole time. That new not allowed to balance against the wall rule is pretty lame though.

So long as he calls it soccer he's still American.

Played against any Mexicans yet? You will need to learn the nuances of gringo ball to defeat them, young grasshopper.
Indoor is great. You need to think fast and make quick decisions with the ball. It wears you out faster since you are always involved in the play and there are more direction changes.

I have been playing indoor recently, its paticularly tiring when you have one extra one the one side as you have to constantly run to make up for the missing player. Because i hadn't played for a while it took a bit of time to get into it but im back into my stride now... i just love scoring as well...
Glad we have a convert STFS, its a brilliant game.

For those who don't read LEN's footballodium:
Yanks stun world soccer.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...ions-cup-finalThe United States will contest the Confederations Cup final after causing a huge upset in Bloemfontein tonight by inflicting a first defeat on Spain since 2006.
Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey scored the goals as underdogs USA, having lost their opening two games in the tournament and only squeezed through Group B by the skin of their teeth, set up a final showdown against either Brazil or hosts South Africa on Sunday.
The result was one of the biggest shocks in recent international history, with the all-conquering Spanish having broken the record for consecutive wins with their 15th on the trot against South Africa at the weekend.
The European champions would also have claimed the record for the longest unbeaten run if they had avoided defeat tonight, having drawn level with Brazil's run of 35 in that South Africa match.
Even the 86th-minute dismissal of Michael Bradley - son of coach Bob - could not deny the USA, who were left to celebrate a famous victory.
