If economy is not your forte and you want to be able to wage a war (or two) at the same time I suggest you try the Ptolemaioi.

Benefits:
Among the strongest and most well developed factions right from the start
Large.
Lots of sea trade makes your economy rather easy
A war with a clear front and strategy with a faction that is quite capable of putting up a fight if it wants to (the AS).
Your route of expansion leads you to other well-developed and relatively prosperous regions
You get 5000 Mnai in cash to play with and if you manage well you should be able to make some quick money by an aggressive campaign in Syria (no enemy family members to rip up your lesser troops quite so readily)
Your back is well protected during the early game. So when the inevitable happens you have had plenty of time to prepare yourself.
Your main money making cities have either walls or are out of reach for enemy forces during what will probably be your entire game.
