Welcome back econ21!
Planning Sigfrieds death together with you is one of my fondest memories of KotR.
And of course, I'm in. Can't keep the veterans waiting. Although what is this I keep hearing of Kingdoms? Have to look into that!°![]()

Ah hell...given all the "man love" being thrown around...
...I'll join in as well.![]()
Looks like I'm going to have to eat my words and fit this into my schedule from the start rather than waiting until October...
Where the hell is OverKnight??
Can will put out an APB on the guy somehow?![]()

Meh, if I play less mafia, I'll have time for KotF. I thinks its a pretty good tradeoff.
I'll have to wait until tuesday/wednesday of next week to get kingdoms though. Hopefully that won't be an issue.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
So that its subjects will view it with admiration, as a chicken which has the daring and courage to boldly cross the road,
but also with fear, for whom among them has the strength to contend with such a paragon of avian virtue? In such a manner is the princely
chicken's dominion maintained. ~Machiavelli

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

Assuming equal distribution across Houses, that would be five per House, which is a good number. My jaw is still on the ground at the idea of spawning 16 RBGs on turn 1, but in the long term, this level of participation would be great.

Just out of curiosity, roughly what proportion of the 56 were active after 10 turns?
I was very interested to see how you allocated the avatars, although I hope whatever process Zim uses, it does not take 7 days for players to finish it. I am itching to start writing a story...
Each player got a choice of RBGs (after the first batch, players got to pick from three), so there were plenty left over.
I'd say that there were around 20 initial stories introducing all of the avatars in the game's opening days.

And then there was Bart...
About every scenario I devised as his backstory was already posted when I finally got him. In the end I finally figured a backstory for him but never wrote, let alone posted it...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
56 were spawned because there were 4 family members, thus 60 total avatars, which was double the number of players we had (30 players at start). We then went through a lottery, with priority given based on participation in the previous game (KotR) and in the test game that preceded LotR (this is what we did for avatar priority in KotR, so it was just continuing the tradition). First person on the list got their pick of any avatar, family member or RBG, on the list. When they were done, their chosen avatar was removed, and the second person picked. Rinse and repeat until all 30 players had chosen, at which point all extra RBGs were killed off to bring the avatars back down to 30. It actually worked pretty well and didn't take very long at all.
