Edit: Is it just me or did anyone else get a Godfather vibe from the excellent royal family story. Phillipe as Don Corleone, Louis as the hot headed, servant banging Sonny and Constance as. . .well. . .Connie. Which of the younger sons will be Michael and which (gulp) Fredo?

Do I get it right that when Charles becomes of age he can start his own House/Duchy when he receives a settlement? His parent, King Philippe, is not part of any House and Charles is not obliged to start in his brother Duchy as well?

Something like that used to be in the draft rules, but I queried it and reading the current rules, I can't find anything to that effect. There would be no obligation to join your brother's Duchy, so you would have a free pick. I think you would need the 2/3 vote to create your own House, same as any land-owning noble.
