I don't know. Maybe the king's taken leave? Either that, or he had a run in with some republicans and has been guillotined.

You people are always dogging the Republicans. Don't you know that's the party that freed the slaves.

Since someone PMed me about the tournament I thought it would be best if I replied here since I think many are wondering when will the tournament start.
I'm glad to say that everything should be up and ready today and as of 00:00 EST Friday, the first round will start. Thank you all for your patience.
TheFlax - that's an amazing set up for a tournament!
As I understand those participants go from left to right? That would mean that Alphonse will have Simon de Montpierre (Itulrade) on the other side of that table?
Also, could someone post that econ's table with players stregths to somewhere? I know that it's here in OOC thread but it would be pain to search it every time I want to know my opponents strength.
Also, what happens if two members from the red team attack a blue team member or vice-versa?
Thanks.
Yes, it is from left to right, so Alphonse would indeed have Simon de Montpierre on the other side of the table.
Econ's table should really go in the library, but I'll add it to the tournament thread for convenience.
If two people gang up on another, we first of all that lone person would have to be the only valid target. (You fight in priority knights that are not fighting anyone) Then, when combat is resolved. There would be a 1 vs 1 fight and then another 1 vs 1 fight. So the lone knight basically has to face two fights that round. If he gets knocked out, both combatants who attacked him will get a half a capture.
EDIT: Econ, can you send me a copy of the table you posted in a PM?
PM sent.
It might be an idea for the second deadline for tournament orders to also be 48 hours. Sunday is a sleepy day, so extending it to Monday might be an idea. Once we hit weekdays, 24 hours should be ample.
At the moment I've given more or less 72h for the first turn so that it ends Sunday evening EST and then I was thinking to go with 24h/round during the week, but I could certainly split it like that. Thing is, Saturday evening I won't be able to actually post any results for the first round, it will have to wait for Sunday evening anyways.
Thank you for the PM.![]()
Very nice, TheFlax. Speaking of the melee, is it possible to shout at opposing players, at least before contact is made? (read: send them PMs or what have you)

(question removed to be PM'd)
Edit: While I'm asking, what happens if two players from the same team try to move into the same hex?

The discussion in the tournament brainstorm thread has made me realize that none of the people who sent me their orders have given me their stance if combat arises. (High/Medium/Low)
If combat occurs and I don't have a stance from the player, I'll have to pick one randomly.
I doubt that during this first round there will be any fights.
I assumed the high/medium/low bit got replaced by the choice of weapon. My mistake apparently. Good to know though.

Lulwat? There are stances AND weapons? And thus a total of +2? Is the weapon choice permanent?
Yes, weapon choices should be permanent. At least I understood these rules that way.
Sorry for bieng away but RL got inthe way this week... thunderstorms cutting my connection, lot of work during days and playing guide in Paris to family, left mer with not much time for KotF...

Kermit's made a TWS2 guide? Oh, the other frog....
So, let me se if I understand the Tourney and the dueling rules.
The rules themselves only mention high, medium and low strikes, not weapon choice. So is this an addition for this Tourney only? Also weapon choice is permanent for all the rounds of the Tourney but the choice of strike changes round to round?
If we lose a fight in the Tourney, will it be deducted from our fight value (that fiftyish number)?

Can I just say how awesome the library looks with the big coats of arms for every avatar. Really makes it a pleasure to look at. Good job at Cecil and deguerra, I say!
