Now, now, who is recruiting? I merely opened a House thread and may or may not have had a few private conversations with, in the parlance, eligible gentlemen. We're all anxious to kick matters off, and someone had to be first into the pool.

The parameters of this war will be entirely muddled and subjective and I fully expect us to each declare victory several times over the course of the game. However, I just think the fact that we are engaged in a Dread War, whatever it means, would be awesome.

French speakers: Would "Une Histoire du Royaume de France" be an appropriate title for the History Thread?

Hmmm, then again, I'd say "Une Histoire" sounds much more medievalish. "Historique" sounds too modern and academic.

I'd personally go with:

La Grande Histoire du Royaume de France or La Grande Histoire du Royaume des Francs

for added character.

"Une histoire du Royaume de France" translates to "A story of the Kingdom of France." while "Historique du Royaume de France" translates to "History of the Kingdom of France."

So while the first one is entirely correct, I didn't think it was as appropriate as the second one.

History is up (and insta-stickied, that was a quick draw). I'm afraid it's going to be a pastiche of French and English words and titles. For the names of the Duchies, I will use what the Dukes set up in their respective threads (Bretagne versus Brittany for example). For titles (le Roi versus King) I will use the personal preference of the title holder.

As always, any suggestions or additons for the history should be PMed to me, preferably with a link if applicable.

I'm going to make a concerted effort to make Hugues cheerful. All my previous character were a bit. . .um. . .driven and grim.

On another note, are we still going to have that Battle Royale to start the game? I'd suggest, for just this time, that we remove the chance of death. It be a shame to have a spanking new character die by accident before we even move on the map.

Also, rules discussion has died down, are we ready for a final vote and a last draft of the Charter?

What's this about a final vote?

We seemed to have polls on some of the more contentious matters, I'd thought there might be one for any last changes, ie age mod and such. If not, I'm cool with that.
