Well i dont think there is nothing wrong with rare meat if it is in a form that can be eaten easily. For example, i love to eat meatball dough rare. Basically it has minced meat, onion, breadcrums and egg with spices. That stuff is delicious.

Re Lutefisk, I had that at a buffet over christmas at a Swedish restaurant. Was actually pretty tame, tho my Finnish friend warned me of Lutefisk.
Maybe its just Scandinavians wanting to scare people off this tasty fish.
