MMO's... I was just offered to goto one of my favorite dinner spots last night, and I said no thanks I got to raid... I quit... Proving yet again, why I hate mmo's... 240 hours in 2 weeks? Not for me... Not at all... I QUIT!(Now if only I could say that loud and proud to my cousin with a few flowery words in it.)

Good. MMO's are almost invariably the worst class of game. Pointless grinding dressed up in poor graphics for accessibility.
Go get yourself some high-end stuff. If RPG's are your thing, then grab a Bioware game.

I have too many games, but I proved to my self(after my wow addiction) that no matter what it is I can easily get addicted to MMO's.

The attraction is the online element and your "online friends".
Quit wow and try to talk to them over MSN/etc. All they want to talk about is WoW and they will basically ignore you and never speak to you again, since you no longer play.

Ha, I actually got on and started a 200 player race. The winner got all my gold ( 256g 92s 15c 99t) and about 100 gold worth of materials and about 200 gold worth of items in my bank.
EDIT: It was a naked race, I couldn't post pics even if I had thought to have taken them.
Edit 2: I just realized im horribly addicted to the org too.. but this is like a 2 year crack addiction for me... I dont think I can quit.

if you like RPG's, you could try Oblivion or Fallout. open-worlds that dont requre anything. do whatever you want.

You sir, need to get yourself a girlfriend. They literally suck away any amount of time dedicated to playing video games. When you do get the off chance to play, its like a moment of pure serenity. Then, maybe later, comes children, and then you're really screwed.
As for me, I'm slightly addicted to the .Org, but I usually check for five or ten minutes every couple of hours, and then get off. As is the case now, it happens to be 3:00 in the morning, and of course, getting a wake up call from the little one, I have thirty minutes to spend mulling over my existence, and debating politics while I wait to transfer once unclean bedsheets from the washer to the dryer, before I sneak back into bed, for another three or four hours of hopefully undisturbed sleep.
The point I'm making, is that in the real world, MMOs, and in fact Video Games in General, should be third or fourth or twentieth down the line in the pleasure department. Sleep, sex, alcohol should always trump.

Very true. Once I started working, I was lucky to get 4 hours of gaming in a week.
edit: same is true for a girlfriend. I actually found myself wanting to get her home so I could game. Don't do that though. Bad move.

I was the same way with WoW. You could say I got lucky because most of the guilds I joined fell apart a few months after joining. If I had gotten in a stable guild, I probably would have never quit. That and I never found raiding to be that fun. I don't like to brag but I was always in the crowd waiting for the slower learners to pick something up for the 10th time.
And for the girlfriend, the secret is to find one that likes playing games! I haven't found one yet but maybe some day. You are going to have to reduce gaming time for sure, but that doesn't mean you have to stop playing entirely.

Thank god for Lord of the Rings Online...gives me all the MMO crack I need, but not that I have to play every day.
I don't miss WoW. I raided back in the Classic days. 40-man raids was hell. Half the raid doing their job, half the raid slacking. Raid leaders seeing WoW as the perfect tool to live out their drill sergeant fantasies. I'm convinced the raid leader in my guild was watching first part of Full metal jacket before each raid and had thrown all his porno in the trash as it wasn't needed anymore. And also add in the usualy guild drama. I was a Resto Druid btw.

Im horribly addicted to fighting Humans, the AI just doesnt cut it for me in a lot of games.

I try to stay away from MMO's as much as possible. As stated above, girlfriends might just be the best way to stay away from video games. I have friends who are lost causes...poor michael has four 80 level characters on WoW and doesnt see any problem with it.
