Gaeten has a defensive battle, an English relief army has attacked him at Pamplona.
I believe there is a second defensive battle after this one, so wait for that to pop up before saving.
Pamplona
The Battle of Pamplona has been fought, and fought hard, and at great cost. Summary in the Consiel.

Seneschal's Report for 1108
Current Events
Gaeten de Rethel has crushed the English relief army at Pamplona and taken the castle. The victory came at a heavy cost,
Yvon Lacaze was sacrificed for the victory. He fought valiantly and will be missed.
Baron Thomas de Saint-Amand heroically repulsed a German attack near Magdeburg.
Due to the chaos of these battles some of my reports were not received. (OOC: I didn't get building or recruitment pop-ups due the save being handed around during the AI turn.)
Prince Henri has an offer of marriage:
A cousin perhaps? I leave it to him to accept or decline.
Domestic Affairs
Roads were built for Bern, Land Clearance for Zaragoza and Metz and a Chapel for Bordeaux.
Foreign Affairs
At Riga, one of our diplomats sold the Rus trade rights and maps for 1000 florins. The offer was barely accepted.
Military Affairs
King Philippe and the Order crushed the English outside Nottingham and have sieged the castle.
Bern has fallen to
Duc Raymond.
Barbus Selvo and Princess Constance came ashore in the port near Toulouse. Our galley fleet has taken shelter there as a larger German fleet is off the coast of Iberia.
I drove off some brigands near Metz, but they fled into the woods across the Moselle and then disappeared. I am now at the Moselle ford south of Metz.
Prince Henri is advancing on Hamburg and
Thomas de Saint-Amand on Magdeburg. Both men are stretching their supply lines. I have recruited two units of spear militia in Frankfurt to reinforce them. I'll let them sort out who gets what.
A company of spear militia was recruited in Antwerp to stiffen the garrison. Another company of militia was recruited in Zaragoza.
Iberia:
The Moors have not moved. Rioting in Valencia has stopped. The ransomed English army is still near Pamplona. A German fleet is off the coast.
England:
Another English army, this one from the south, has moved to challenge the King. William remains in York.
Germany:
We close on Magdeburg and Hamburg, but Antwerp and Bern are threatened.
Recommendations
The German menace around Antwerp must be removed. If
Gaspard de Neufville cannot rouse himself, I will do it myself. Though I am two seasons away.
We must remove the English from the continet. The ponces should stay on their island.
Duc Raymond, my thanks for taking Bern. Do you feel up to crushing that relief force?
Prince Henri and
Thomas de Saint-Amand, you are both extending yourselves. This is risky. Reinforcements are coming your way, but you both face garrisons larger than your own forces. Consider your next moves carefully.
The Crusade issue still twists in the wind. We are close to a new session, should it wait a bit more?
Should we have peace with Germany now, or if Magdeburg and Hamburg fall?
Please bring suggestions, comments and troop requests to the Conseil.

The remaining English near Pamplona have been defeated and executed. Louis then entered Pamplona and removed the army, leaving Gaetan de Rethel to guard it. Additionally I moved Gontran de Linars down to the docks to 'seize' the ship there and sent him back to Toulouse, although I didn't check the rules to see how that works first, so it might just mean he went out for a quick jaunt.
Vladimir 02:48 10-12-2009
Gontran loves quick jaunts. Although he often has to chew his arm off in the morning.

New save
Nottingham has fallen and is now garrisoned by Philippe and the Order knights. Philippe realesed the 41 men captured and is now known as
Philippe the Honourable.
I would ask our Senechal permission to move our spy to York to make a move on the city this very season.
If this is allowed I will leave as many men as possible with the Order knights (OOC : probably all but one full unit of Armoured Sergeants) and they'll be able to go and fight the stack coming from London.

Save returned
Philippe fought the small English stack between Nottingham and the main stack, by himself. Once again, I released the 20 odds men captured (88 florins ransom was not even considered) and Philippe is now a Champion of Honour, known as
Philippe the Chivalrous. (OOC : reminds of AG's avatar in KotR who changed his title every other turn

)
The King is now halfway towards York and has been joined by a company of Armoured Sergeants from Nottingham.
Order Captain has permission to engage the main English stack between Nottingham and London and march on London if movement allows.

Seneschal's Report for 1110
Current Events
I marched on Antwerp with my retinue and a company of Mounted Sergeants. The Germans must have heard that I was in the area, for they retreated east towards Frankfurt.
Part of the garrison of Magdeburg has moved directly south of the castle.
Barbus Selvo has another adoption offer.
Domestic Affairs
Many projects have been completed:
Land Clearance was started in Antwerp, Communal Farming in Paris, roads in Pamplona and the Mustering Hall was repaired in Valencia.
Also, in order to more fully enjoy my pending retirement from being Seneschal, yes, that's right, a new Session will open at the end of this Season, I have ordered a Brothel for Reims. (OOC: Think of it as Hugues's Presidential Library.) We we also be able to recruit spies there once completed.
Foreign Affairs
Before the end of my term I will make one more effort to reach peace deals with the Empire and England.
Military Affairs
King Philippe had a very busy year: He has taken Nottingham and York and sent King William to his Divine Judgement.
Captain Simon de Montpierre and the Order crushed an advanced English army north of London.
Robert Bouchart fell in the battle.
Prince Henri besieged Hamburg. Despite being outnumbering him, the garrison did not sally.
Prince Louis has destroyed the last English army on the continent near Pamplona.
A company of Mailed Knights, the Dauphin's gift to Thomas de Saint-Amand, is ready in Toulouse. A company of Spear Militia has been recruited in Frankfurt. Thomas please let Prince Henri have these men.
Iberia:
This front is quiet. The Moors have not moved in several seasons. Are they cowards, or just busy with Spain?
England:
No more English armies have surfaced. The largest observable force is garrisoning Caernarvon.
Germany:
Frankfurt might soon be threatened by the army retreating from Antwerp. They lie in ambush somewhere between the two settlements. A small force might be taking an end run at Nuremburg. The Germans seem unwilling to besiege Bern, but are not moving on.
Recommendations
Duc Raymond if you will not remove the Germans from Bern, I will ask that
Bertin de Montsault do it. Bertin, just don't wreck my. . .I mean our army though.
Prince Henri please be careful. I don't need anymore dead Nobles.
Captain de Montpierre taking London would greatly increase our leverage in any negotiations with the English.
Please bring suggestions, comments and troop requests to the Conseil.
