SENESHAL REPORT Season 5 (1087)

Le Trésor Royal:

My King, Dauphin, nobles of the realm. If the fourth season was rather dull the fifth was entirely eventful. Explanation will be given in the latter part of the report.

Our new diplomat is heading towards the Scottish capital as the edict states. Of course I could in fact treaty with the Scottish kings man near Paris but the edict is clear.

We have another man petitioning the Dauphin for privilege and station.

Her Highness Princess Constance arrived in Rome and presented herself to the Pope, he seems entirely charmed by her and we secured trade and her stature across Europe became even more impressive.

In addition the large English army camped opposite us must have realised the folly of considering force and has immediately left Wales for southern England.

The most perssing news of the season was the attack by the Holy Roman Empire on our beloved King. As a result we are now at war with the Holy Roman Empire.

Ser de Neufville has had a small skirmish to the north while on the eastern border Duc de Champagne has struck the first successful blow against our neighbours. As a result Staufen is ours!!

Due to the events of last season I am voiding edict 1.1 and will begin recruitment and construction as I see fit and as listed in your lords orders to me regarding your settlements.

I would caution this though my lords. Her Highness Princess Constance has reliably informed me that while the Holy Roman Empire is teetering on the abyss of excommunication, they are not there yet. We must tread carefully of we may find ourselves dealing with a situation we can ill afford to cope with. Excommunication.

Philippe has besieged Antwerp with the help of Simon de Montpierre and Eloi de Montferrat (as allowed by their SOT)

Sieurs Mauvoisin, Neufville and Rethel, Order knights as well as Sieur La Hire are welcome to join in the siege at the earliest opportunity.

Bruges is undefended but taxes have been lowered to compensate, the same shall be done in Paris should Sieur La Hire leave the city.

SENESHAL REPORT Season 8 (1092)

Le Trésor Royal:

My King, Dauphin, nobles of the realm.

It was a busy year for diplomacy.

Firstly we managed to gain some head way with the stubborn Scots. They have accepted a trade agreement with some florins added but refused an alliance with an additional sweetener. I will continue to attempt to fulfill the edict.








In Portugal we managed to secure and alliance and trade rights but just failed to secure military access.







I will attempt again to fulfill the requirements next season.




As such our standing with Portugal and Spain increased as a result.








Her Highness Princess Constance was accosted by yet another suitor. I leave it to her father to remove this annoyance. I must also formally reiterate here in the Seneschals report that Her Highness seems to have gone missing. All inquiries to her whereabouts in Rome have been met with no success. The Pope himself has sent his concerns to the Seneschals office.






I'm pleased to provide the following construction beginning:

It looks like the English have decided that the secret war is to begin.



That and another key indicator is the situation around Dublin as an example of their strength and intentions. I will be make a quick departure from Ireland in the coming season as the situation is beyond our resources.
