SENESHAL REPORT Season 7 (1090)

My King, Dauphin, nobles of the realm.

I have the pleasure of announcing that His Highness Prince Henri has come of age and has received his spurs. He is residing in Rheims and is awaiting your commands my King.

His Highness Prince Louis was asked to consider giving another man station and rank. It was rejected.

In other news regarding the royal family, Princess Constance has failed to reply to quite a number of my missives relating to matters of state and the Papacy. I am starting to become a little concerned about her. Rome is full of vipers and danger, not hearing from her regularly is something I will raise with the King.

Scottish stubbornness has lead to the inability to fulfill one of our edicts.

I will attempt again to fulfill the requirements next season.

Our other diplomat is heading towards the Portuguese capital and I hope to have reports of an alliance and trade in the next season.

I'm pleased to provide the following construction beginning:

Rennes: Land Clearance
Antwerp: Town Watch (Repair)
Rheims: Grain Exchange
Zaragoza: Roads
Valencia: Roads
Metz: Upgrading to a Stone Keep.

It seems Duc of Lorraine was correct. The Holy Roman Empire has beseiged Dijon. The situation looks very serious from the reports I have received.

The Scottish also seem intent on Dublin, so I intend to move immediately across the Irish Sea to lay siege. I simply need a response from my nobles on who will attend the event.

Myself, Bertin and the army of Lorraine are now in position to support a sally at Dijon (KnightnDay's SoT post prohibited me from moving him, so he'll have to take the save and move his avatar into the stack if he wishes to join). I would suggest that Duc Raymond await Thomas's arrival before attacking, but it is his decision.

Seneschal, as discussed, I have prioritized a company of. . .peasants. . .for Metz to prevent rioting. Once all moves have been made, please adjust the tax levels in Reims to avoid rioting.

The Company of the Order of the Fleur de Lys (Hermant, Eloi, Simon and Gaspard) wish to ride to join with the King to the ford on the Rhine. This will leave Antwerp lacking a garrison, but the place is so underdeveloped, it blackens the reputation of any man said to "govern" it. The locals are calling Simon ignorant and me a bad trader!
