    Save is back

Philippe crossed the Channel with his cavalry and defeated the English noble that threatened Bouchard EDIT : Rochefort. Two men were captured and released. They retreated back to Nottingham with demands that Guillaume surrenders to God's Justice.

The sergeants have been left in the care of the Order Knights, whom I shall meet when they cross the border and we request our Crusade.

Save Back - sorry for the long wait.

Routed the nearby English cavalry, and have laid siege to Pamplona - I would request, if possible, that two cavalry regiments be sent to me, preferably of heavier cavalry.

Henri has fought two LARGE SLOW battles East of Frankfurt.

1st battle fought against nearly 800 men but in very mountainus terrain - Clear Victory, HRE refused to pay ransom for the 400 prisoners.

2nd battle heavily outnumbered by a force of 1200 including the new Kaiser. They refused to move from cover in woods so had to slowly out flank them with my hole army. The Kaiser was killed by a crossbow bolt and his hole body guard with him by the same unit.

Casualties have been high but acceptable. Ransom was paid on the prisoners for the 2nd battle some 620 florins.

Taking save. May be a little while.

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

    Save back. Gontran took Bordeaux.

No battle report. I'm frustrated enough from finding the save. If Vista makes me search for my screenshots I'll shoot the computer.

    Save for MoH decision.

Ramses, once you've made the choice, if I'm not around, press end turn. YLC (there were no mercs to hire in the area) will most likely be attacked by the English. Upload a save for YLC. YLC, after the battle, save as soon as possible and pass it on to me.

    Seneschal's Report for 1105

    Current Events

I write in haste, for events have once again overtaken us. I will add more detail when I have it. (OOC: I've got to get to work and only have time for a preliminary report and to get the save out, I'll flesh it out at work once I have some time.)

The Jihad on Baghdad has been succesful.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

This means the Moors can focus on us. An army has appeared seemingly out of nowhere in between Dijon and Marseille:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The ransomed army of the Sultan is now threatening Valencia, which is ungarrisoned:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Gaeten de Rethel was pushed back from Pamplona, somehow a massive English army has reinforced the settlement. I have no idea where it came from.

    Our other fronts:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I have sieged Nuremberg, if I had known what was to happen I would have turned west. Antwerp is threatened.

A large English army has appeared to the west of York.

I will present the rest once there is time.

Please bring any suggestions or comments to the Conseil.

    Seneschal's Report for 1105, continued

    Domestic Affairs

The Dauphin has been blessed with a fourth daughter, Tiphaine.

Barbus Selvo has a candidate for adoption.

Princess Constance and Barbus Selvo have a new daughter, Nicole:

With the completion of a chapel in Metz, we have completed the Pope's request.

A Mustering hall has been completed in Toulouse.

Due to the largesse of the Dauphin a Town Watch has been ordered for Rennes, a Port for Bruges, a small Church in Zaragoza, a Grain Exchange in Marseille and Antwerp, Land Clearance in Dijon and Paris and a Church in Frankfurt.

    Foreign Affairs

None besides what has already been reported.

    Military Affairs

I transferred a unit of Sergeant Spearmen from my army to Duc Raymond's before besieging Nuremburg. I recruited a replacement at Metz, along with archers for Baron de Saint-Amand. A company of Militia Spearmen were recruited in Frankfurt to reinforce Prince Henri.

Militia were recruited for Marseille and Zaragoza. Cavalry was retrained and archers recruited at Toulouse.

    Duc Raymond has besieged Bern.

Prince Louis crushed and then ransomed the Moorish Jihad army near Marseille.

Prince Henri destroyed two German armies east of Frankfurt, yet another Kaiser has fallen.

Valencia and Bordeaux fell to our forces.

Princess Constance and Barbus Selvo have passed through the Strait of Messina and are headed north.

    Recommendations

Many of our cities in the south and east are now under threat. I suggest that I take Nuremburg, and Bern if Duc Raymond can do it, and then offer terms to the Germans with Nuremburg, and Staufen if needed, as chits. This will free up our forces in the east to respond to this newest threat.

We also still have the option of asking for a Crusade on the Moors rather than the English. Given what we have taken, we could most likely gain a status quo ante bellum peace with them. I know this would be very unpalatable, but it is another option.

    God save the Kingdom.

Please bring any suggestions or comments to the Conseil.

    Save returned

Philippe rode north with his cavalry and attacked Loefwine of Withby with his two companies of mercenary crossbows looking to reinforce Guillaume in Nottingham. The price of Leofwine's failure was Guillaume's refusal to pay the 954 florins' ransom of his men.

For his victory, Philippe is now known as King Philippe the Horseman.

Philippe then rode south and took position between London and Nottingham. Moved the "would-be" crusader stack to join up with Philippe. Had to make the Crusader stack make a detour to avoid being bogged down in London suburbs.

Stack movement is exhausted or almost.
