Thomas defeated Captains Hans and Godwine and pushed the Germans back into Magdeburg. The city is now under siege.

Philippe joined forces with the London besiegers and through a dense London fog, he fought Prince Lawrence and his foot knights, winning an heroic victory.

Prisoners have been released and London has been occupied.

Following the current trend, Philippe's title has chnaged once more. He's now known as the Mighty.

Current Events

I have rejoined the Lorain army at the Moselle ford.

Domestic Affairs

Land Clearance was for ordered for Bordeaux, Pamplona and Frankfurt and a Mustering Hall for Bern.

Foreign Affairs

I approached the English and the Empire.

Both offers were rejected. We came close to what the English wanted, but it's highway robbery. I cannot imagine why either wish to continue.

Military Affairs

King Philippe has taken London.

Funds for the King's prioritizations have been allocated.

Affaires militaires

Recrutement

Continuing the work to reinforce our armies, His Majesty has allocated funds to the following recruitments and ordered that experienced regiments be retrained when needed :

Notably, a spear militia company has been commissioned in Frankfurt which had been left defenseless.
All other Houses have had some of their men retrained.

Albion

The retraining of our army proved to be a most insightful idea as a new war has been declared on our Royaume.

A viking raid has landed in the English Midlands and is right now laying siege to the castle of Nottingham.
Already the English population can be heard praying "O Lord, deliver us from the fury of the Northmen !"
Our spy has been immediately sent to report on the extent of the forces involved and his report is alarming, to say the least.

It seems nevertheless that he sharpened his skills, learning certainly from the deviousness of the Northmen.

One question remains : is this the act of a fool-hardy Northman driven by his lust for gold or is it the first step of a large scale invasion such as our shores suffered in the times of our ancestors ?

Otherwise in Albion, an English fleet has been spotted sailing south in the Channel to an unknown destination, while a sizable army has been seen moving north, east of York.
This army may be bringing reinforcements to Edinburgh where a Scottish army has begun raiding the countryside.

Germany

On the eastern front, one Captain Richard leading our reinforcements from Frankfurt to the siege of Magdeburg has been attacked by a small Imperial force which forced him to retreat once but the Reichlanders gave chase and engaged Captain Richard's men, defeating them and forcing them to flee south towards Nuremburg.

To complicate matters further, an Imperial army led by Hermann Erlacht has been spotted marching through the Ardennes heading on Reims.

Bern is still threatened by an Imperial force camping a few leagues of its walls, but with no clear intent.

Southern border

Our southern border seems secure for now, be it with Italy or in Iberia. The Moors seem to have chosen to play a waiting game.

Affaires diplomatiques

All diplomatic business had been conducted by the Senechal during his term.

Affaires intérieures

The last stone has been laid on several buildings :

Our Cardinal can hope to be elected as the next Pope as he is the leader of the Preferati in Rome. Surely his work in Cordoba, preaching to the Muslims has opened the gates of Heaven to him.

A young noble has presented himself to be adopted by Barbus Selvo. The man seems to have some merit, at least.

Even with the influx of Venetian blood, it seems our King's line is cursed. Though the birth of Margot to Princess Constance and Prince Barbus is a boon, France is saddened that no son has yet been born to the King's family.

Meanwhile, Thomas de Saint-Amand has gained some respect at court. Maybe from his candidacy to the position of Senechal ?

His Majesty has decided to allot the following lands aux Maisons du Royaume :

London is to be given to the House of Bretagne, if Duc Alain will have it. The gift is to be effective at the start of the next season, as its garrison may be needed this season in fighting off the Northmen.
Pamplona to be allocated to the House of Aquitaine, if Prince Louis will have it. The gift is to be effective immediately.
Valencia is to be given to Prince Barbus Selvo, if he will have it. The gift is to be effective immediately.

Recommandations

His Majesty asks the Order knights present in Albion to once more serve under his orders in order to protect English women and children from the depredations of the Vikings. If the knights do not wish to join in the fight, His Majesty kindly asks them to release to his control the infantry company currently under their orders.
This gives us an opportunity that we are in Albion not for our own sake but to protect the English people from those who would prey upon them. We must not miss it.

His Majesty also recommends that Duc Hugues or one of his vassal march against Erlacht's army before it has any chance to threaten one of our settlement.

His Majesty also recommends that Duc Raymond or one of his vassals strikes at the army encamped out of Bern castle before it receives reinforcements.
