Herrmann Erlach and the survivors of his army were ransomed for 2908 florins. They fled to the border north of Frankfurt.

Le Rapport Royal de l'an de Grâce 1113

    Mes Seigneurs,

La Maison de Lorraine has been struck severely this season. We've lost Bertin de Montsault while he was scouting the Imperial Army cutting across our lands, doing his duty to the Royaume.

Now, His Majesty is saddened to announce that Hugues de Champagne, Duc de Lorraine has died. It came unexpectedly and may have been caused by a disease or a badly healed wound from his fight to avenge his vassal.
Hugues de Champagne had been a great General and Senechal of this Royaume, keeping it in good order while we were involved in many wars. His Majesty is ruly saddened by the loss of such a faithful vassal.

Let us all pray for their souls and remember them both as proud Frenchmen who served their country and God.

    Affaires militaires

    Batailles

As has been told already, Bertin de Montsault died under the swords of Erlach's men and was avenged by Duc Hugues. Erlach now threatens the back of Henri's sieging army.

Bern has been freed of the threat of the Reich thanks to Bourgogne's men.

The lands of the Moors must have have gold blooming on the trees to allow them to pay such ransoms for their sovereign. His Majesty wishes to thank Prince Louis for the boon to the treasury he brought and wishes to commend him for his "restraint
", even when dealing with heathens.

The Danes besieging Nottingham have been defeated by His Majesty. Having noted Order Knight de Montpierre's reluctance to the defense of Albion, His Majesty has not seen fit to enroll him in that battle.
None of the raiders have made it back to their ships.

His Majesty has suffered severe wounds and will surely need some time to heal.

    Recrutement

Thanks to the gold amassed from the Moors and the Reich, all prioritizations have been granted and further recruitment and training has been possible.

    Albion

The country is now at peace. Though we must remain vigilant. The Scots have gone back north without a fight.
Another English fleet has been spotted heading south through the Channel following in the wake of a first one.
The English army near York is unaccounted for.

    Germany

The siege of Magdeburg has been lifted.

A large Imperial force has made its apparition between Magdeburg and Hamburg. The Poles have also made their apparition, massing a large force near the border of Magdeburg.

    Southern border

Our southern border is even more secure now.

    Affaires diplomatiques

Neither Scotland nor the Reich were interested in any of our proposals.

    Affaires intérieures

Two of our cities have grown to the point where their walls will have to be improved.

Few buildings have been achieved this year. Though the completion of the church in Bruges has brought us Papal approval.

But a larger number have been commissioned throughout the Royaume.
Stables have been commissioned in Metz in memoriam of Bertin de Montsault.
Toulouse has seen a Garrison Quarter started and Nottingham a Drill Square. A Knight's Stable is also being erected in Caen.

A Grain Exchange is being built in Zaragosa, according to sieur de Xaintrailles' request.

A Small Church is being built in York to help bring back the souls of the English people to the right path.

Affaires de la Cour et du Monde

Another young noble has presented himself to be adopted by Barbus Selvo. The last one has been sent back to his estate.

A Polish Cardinal has been elected to the College, making Poland the largest contingent with 3 cardinals. Should the Pope die, their voices will count and they will certainly try to build on this.

The Byzantines are rumoured to be the most advanced faction.

A large battle between Sicily and Milan has taken place outside the walls of Genoa with the latter emerging victorious.

    Recommandations

His Majesty recommends that his son Henri and Thomas de St-Amand retreat to Frankfurt to join up forces and face the large Imperial force advancing on them. Mercenaries could be recruited to help defend the city.

    Save is back:

I mishandled my attack on the Moorish Sultan and ran out of movement to get him, so he got to retreat away. Moved the recruits from Toulouse, Pamplona, and Bordeaux south towards Louis. Moved the Mailed Knights for Thomas towards his position, they should reach him next year. Sent peasants from Toulouse towards Bordeaux.
