You know the Raiders D really showed up to play, and the Eagles D really didn't, but Russell didn't exactly have a great game. Take away those two big plays, which were really sloppy give aways by Philly (How many guys that could've caught Zach just gave up and watched on his long TD?) more than great Raiders O, and Russell looked like his usual joke self behind a lazy offensive line. I guess he didn't make quite as many mistakes as previously, but the Eagles D looked completely uninterested in the game and we weren't exactly exploiting it.

I am glad our D woke up. Maybe it was having Vick come to town? Doesn't everyone want a shot at him? He was barely in the game though.

I think Seymour has been a huge boost to the Raiders' D. Not just his skill (being traded definitely woke him up though), but his attitude and leadership look like they have really started to turn things around, at least defensively.

The Chiefs/Skins game was dreadful, as expected. CBS had technical difficulties in the third quarter, so we got to see some of the Vikings/Ravens game, a much better option. I was so bummed when they switched back.

May the gods forgive me: I've picked my beloved Steelers to defeat my (even more) beloved Vikings.

I hate to say it, but with Winfield out this week, Big Ben will be able to throw the ball all over the place tomorrow. Favre and AP will do their best, but I don't think it'll be enough.

Yeah, that was a tough won to pick. Both teams are somewhat overrated (but then in the NFL most teams are either over or under rated). I picked the vikings because I'll be watching the game and rooting for them

Hehehe, it's a marathon not a sprint, Ichigo. There's a lot of weeks left so just try and stay within striking distance.

I also picked the Steelers, just gotta feeling that the Vikings are due to stumble.

Man, the Bengals are taking the bears out to the woodshed. 31-0 at half.

edit: ok, spoke too soon, Chicago got a field goal at the last second.

The vikings got robbed though imo. 14 point swing on that tripping call.

Wow, what a comeback from the Saints!

Also, isn't Chicago supposed to be decent, er, non Oakland level team?

They are a good team...but if you can't stop benson (189 yards...), you can't stop palmer. We just ran with 6 offensive lineman time after time. And if they stack the box they can't stop chad.

They got behind real quick and had to go for broke, 4 turnovers I think. Cutler had 250 yards, but they only got 30 on the ground.

Most fun I've had this season

That call that robbed the Steelers of a TD which turned into a field goal where the one guy literally set a pick in the middle of a field wasn't exactly on the up and up.

I'm also sure Favre's fumble and interception which were returned for touchdowns didn't help either.

Digging this back from the 2nd page for tomorrow. Should be some fun games tomorrow. Finally going to get around to getting back to the local sports pub of choice to watch the Colts/Texans game.

Also interested on who will win the Baltimore/Denver game. I'm beyond stunned the Broncos are loss-less by this point, and the Ravens badly need a win.

I get to watch that game and then packers/vikings. Excellent.

Good gods; I've been getting killed today! It seems like I've picked the loser in just about every game so far.

At least the Vikings are beating the Packers at the moment. We'll see how long that lasts, though; given my streak today, my having picked Minnesota to win suddenly seems like an ominous portent....

Don't worry, the Vikings will whoop them. It is already the second inning quarter, and it is 14-3.
EDIT: Favre made 4 home runs!

He ran out of arm late in the season last year. Word is he's having a hard time getting ready for gameday already, and he's gotten his revenge well and truly at this point so motivation might begin to slacken. If I were Childress I'd be finding a way to work Tavaris Jackson into the gameplan 8-10 plays a game, and I'd start yanking Farve early in blowouts. Adrian Peterson can win some of these games for them no matter who is handing him the ball.

If Farve has some arm left for a playoff run he will be MVP.

Well, for any team with a franchise quarterback, next year always is a possibility. Besides, the packers are only a game back in the wild card race. They just need to quit giving up 6 sacks a game.

Bengals play the ravens and then the steelers. Big, big games. Win both and we're in the playoffs, win one and we still have a good chance. Lose both and we're going to have to win almost all the rest of our games. Let's hope the offense keeps clicking. I wanna see andre smith play...

This play was the best of the game imo:

Likewise, New Orleans kicker John Carney seems to have "run out of leg", at age 45. I remember when he was with the SD Chargers in the 90's - there were many games where he was the only player who could score; QB Stan Humpries would get the team down to the 25, and hit a "wall", then they'd bring on Carney for the sure 3-pointer.

Last night v Atlanta, he missed a couple of gimmies. He's had 20 pretty good NFL years. I hadn't realized it had been that long. Time to collect that pension and maybe do color commentary for CBS.
