I'm not sure what's supposed to be so confusing about it; at this point it seems pretty clear to me. One player from each side of the conflict gets lynched each day, that being whoever has the most votes from each side. (Unless there are abilities that affect voting, or whatever.) So pevergreen said that ATPG's vote for Elite Ferret caused the latter's death, because ATPG was the first one to vote for someone who was not from Kelewan.

The other alternative, that it's based on the voters' roles and not the roles of the people being voted for, makes less sense from a balance standpoint. As the game goes on and more information gets out, I could see it getting wildly unbalanced very quickly, once a certain tipping point was reached.

Unless ATPG has an auto-lynch ability, or something. In which case never mind. But I don't think it's down to legalistic stuff like has been speculated -- if he didn't do it for THOU SHALT NOT ABSTAIN I don't see him doing it for someone else's format screw-up.

Apologies for lack of later discussion, RL circumstances have been unrelenting in the past 36 hours.

From the current day, this seems to be the case, verifying Double A's idea of "A lynch for every town", or something along the lines at least.

do we know if eliteferret was not from the same faction as AVSM, Khazaar and Shlin?
if so we can assume with some confidence that the 2 lynch candidates have to be from different factions.

if we assume that ATPG's post is the only reason ferret got lynched, the only theory i can think of is - every round one person will be decide the second lynch. they may not know about it. it could be randomly decided or there maybe triggers (though i cant find any that applies to all 3 lynches)

Since AVSM and Khazaar are assumed to be from the same faction, the only way AVSM gets lynched over Khazaar is that votes cast for Khazaar were not counted. Now there are 2 factions, perhaps people who vote for someone not in their faction are just throwing their vote away. Perhaps AVSM was lynched over Khazaar because many of the people voting for Khazaar were from the wrong side of the rift and therefore their votes did not count.

Even if both Beefy and Crazed Rabbit were from your side of the rift, you got voted down with 3 votes. Maybe ATPG is the only person from that side of the rift to have voted for someone on his side of the rift. If I'm correct then there are all sorts of things to read from voting records which indicate from which side of the rift the survivors belong.

Two hooded figures stood on the roof above an allyway. Invisible in the shadows, they waited for something. Hearing the approach of a group, they readied themselves, pulling out a heavy crossbow each. As the group passed below them, they took aim and took out the man in the middle, Subotan. With two bolts in him, he died quickly.

Sigurd was walking down the hall, looking forward to eating the hot, yummy food he had just made with his friends.

It was awfully cold in the hall though, and Sigurd's coat wasn't thick enough!

"Brrr!" Sigurd thought. He knew he should have listened to his mommy before he left and taken warmer clothing with him today. Sometimes his friends would tease him if he did. But now Sigurd knew how important it was to be safe anyway!

As he got to his bed and set the warm, circular food down on a table, he heard someone come in behind him.

"Who could this be?" Sigurd wondered, "Perhaps a friend, or someone who hasn't eaten dinner yet? Oh my! That would be terrible! Well, I'd certainly be happy to share!"

But the dark figure who had silently appeared did not want to share! In fact, he did not even ask to come in! His mommy was surely disappointed by such rude behavior. But this man was a bad fellow who didn't listen to his mother! What in the world could be worse than that?

Instead, the robed figure smiled and said, "Why Sigurd, my friend, why are you so cold to me? Here, let me warm you up." But he lied! He was no friend of Sigurd!

His hands rose up and pointed at Sigurd, and fire shot out of them, surrounding poor Sigurd! It was very hot, hotter than any campfire Sigurd had ever felt! Poor Sigurd died screaming, then fell, his head bouncing off his food and becoming covered with cheese. He would never be able to eat the good food he had made with his friends.

And then that awful robed man left without even leaving a sorry note for the mess.

He was barely distracted when a figure entered the room, but when it advanced, he looked up.

This...thing was at least three heads taller than him, it was massive. It eminated power.

As he was about to shout out for help, the figure unsheathed a glowing sword and with a flick of the wrist, sliced clean through johnhughthom from top to bottom.

The group gathered and noticed more than normal, people were late.

One such person was Khazaar. As he woke, weary-eyed, a robed figured stood in his doorway. He started chanting in an ancient language, fire starting up around his hands. As he was about to complete the incantation, a blue robe fell over him, and a man with a contorted look on his face started whacking him with a stick. The robed attacker fled and Khazaar made his way to the gathering unharmed.

Will be fully back on the 12th, if anyone cares - I hope someone can give me a somewhat abbreviated explanation as to how this game is unctioning so far - is it one faction must vote off members from the opposing faction, and thus votes upon members of ones own faction do not count? That's what I've gathered from reading just this page.
