I still don't get the actual purpose of her article, what was she trying to say? I mean if you write an article it has a point, doesn't it?

Once upon a time that was true. Latterly, vitriol and peurile one-upsmanship seems to suffice.

As you are a European and they still have at least some newspapers/journalists over there, I will excuse your limited knowledge of the nadir to which American political commentary has sunk. After all, you're still exposed to people who can make and argument....at least some of the time.
