The Red Phoenix - Day 1

    Final Tally:
Yaseikhaan (2) - ATPG, Diana Abnoba
    Centurion1 (2) - DiY, AVSM
Death is Yonder (1) - Sprig
    Sprig (1) - Paulus Tertius
    Diana Abnoba (1) - Centurion1

Despite Cao Cao's demand that the situation be discussed, in good truth his staff knew little about the incident so far, and thus all men under the Prime Minister's command contented themselves with petty disputes and juvenile rivalry. Each presented arguments against the others based on inaction and unwillingness to speak, along with unfamiliarity with the recent history of the Middle Kingdom.

In the end and four hours passed and the fifth watch had come. Yaseikhaan and Centurion1 were brought forth as the most suspicious ones according to the council's arguments. Cao Cao looked over both and sighed. He dismissed Yaseikhaan's suspicions and quickly pointed to Mao Jie, raising himself from his chair. "It appears whoever leads our navy is cursed. You have certainly not learned from the mistakes of Cai Mao and Zhang Yun, and like them, you join up with Zhou Yu to bring about my downfall? Truly, our navy is poisoned with traitors. I always thought highly of you Mao Jie, but to think that you would oppose the will of the Emperor and would conspire to slay one of his most loyal and dutiful ministers? Had you succeeded, the people, simple and hard-working folks that they are, would eat you alive for your despicable crime."

Without further ado Cao Cao bluntly exclaims "I have made my decision. Guards! Behead this man and show his head around the camp as a warning for all conspirators!"

Centurion1 was thus ejected out of the main tent and once outside, was beheaded by the military lictors. The rest of staff was dismissed and ordered to take their duties. Cao Cao on the other hand began having many headaches. Not only did he think Mao Jie was indeed a loyal man, he was also one of the very few in his army who had some naval experience. The responsibility for training the naval forces now fell solely on General Yu Jin. The consequence of today's execution, thought Cao Cao, would lead solely to a slower training of his army in handling combat in the water. Overall it was a bad day for Cao Cao and his men.

With the day over, Cao Cao's staff retreated back to their tents and awaited another day of intense training, provided that Mao Jie was indeed the sole dissenter in Cao Cao's inner circles.
