Sounds like the standard disgruntled, going postal event, except the gunman escaped and nobody died (yet).
Edit-> 1 dead, and disgruntled ex-employee in custody.

A BBC report, with info drone has;
Luckily the toll is low. Also, he was fired two years ago.Police in the US city of Orlando say they have arrested a gunman who opened fire in an office building, killing one person and injuring five others.
Jason Rodriguez, a 40-year-old man who once worked in the building, surrendered to police at his mother's house, police chief Val Demings said.
The attack took place at the offices of an engineering firm at the Gateway Center building at 1130 (1630 GMT).

Well, they say a shooting like the ft hood one can spark others, right?

People are going to start killing each other more and more. The question that alot of these people ask themselves, some of whom are reasonably rational is: "I want to, so why shouldn't I?"
Seems like they are coming up short of answers as of late.
Single people have less to lose and fewer to embarass. Marriage rates are going down and males are losing their jobs at a faster rate than women because of the pay disparity. There is alot to be frustrated about and we shouldn't look at newspapers like they are UFO's when we hear that people are killing one another.

The deal is that the wrong people die at these shootings.Originally Posted by Megas

Shootings are culturally determined. Famous are the suicide bombers, of mainly the Islamic world. And another well-known example are school shootings, which are confined to the north. In Europe, only the Northwest. Germany, Scandinavia (Finland!), the British Isles. And North America.
Not South America or Southern Europe. No satisfactory explanation exists. Though some psychologists argue that Northerners do not express themselves emotionally. They internalise anger, and then, one day, a year later, two year's later, eight years later, they explode. They take out all of their stored frustration.
Latins express their emotions on the spot, and that's it. Fiery and feisty, instead of years of build up anger looking for an outlet.
This latter seems to be the origin of the shootings in Texas and Florida.
Tuff - yes. Nothing beats male crime like marriage.

I feel I must slap you, Louis.
There haven't been any school shootings in Scandinavia at all. Scandinavia is just Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Finland isn't part of it, they're a part of the nordic countries, "the North"(Norden), which consists of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.
I expect a humble apology.

There have also been arrests in Sweden and Norway to prevent school shootings.
That first one wasn't a "school shooting", that was a murder who took place outside a school. A rather big difference. Luckily the man was an ethnic norwegian, otherwise this one would've been a classic example of an honour killing... But as he wasn't black, he got care and sympathy instead of an enraged mob...
The second one was a nine year old who brought a shotgun to school, probably to intimidate. Again, not what school shootings are about, as they are about people who are fully aware of what they are doing, the consequences of it, and they go there to kill. That nine year old didn't.
I can't speak for Sweden, but there have certainly not been any "arrests" due to threats, etc against schools. They've been taken care of child services and given extra care and psychological help, we don't arrest minors here.
So no, still no school shootings hereNot saying they won't happen though, just that there haven't been any yet...
also, my response was mainly aimed at Louis' inferior geography skills...

Bloodbath in French school narrowly averted:
Phew.A 13-year-old French boy set out Tuesday to mow down his teachers with a shotgun but abandoned the plan when he arrived at the school and found it surrounded by police, officials said.
The boy's parents raised the alarm when they realised he had taken the family gun from their house near Beauvais, north of Paris, and was headed to his school in Beauvais itself, officials said.
The teenager was in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and admitted his homicidal intentions during an interview, Beauvais prosecutor James Juan said in a statement.
He wanted "to attack his teachers who quarrelled with him even though he had done nothing (wrong)," Juan said. The boy, said to be a video game enthusiast, had on Monday left a message on his blog stating that "this is the last day of my life."
Police warned the head of the 2,000-pupil Saint Esprit school to keep his students confined to their classrooms as the drama unfolded. Yeddou stressed that the boy never managed to get into the school and students were not in danger at any point.
The alarm was raised at 8:15 am (0715 GMT) by the boy's parents, who had become concerned by his unusual behaviour and searched their house, finding the gun and ammunition gone. "His parents were worried when they saw him leave the house very early, around 7:00 am. He did not seem to be his usual self," a source close to the investigation said.

Finland doesn't share language or genetical heritage with the scandinavian countries...
Finland is more like Russia when it comes to linguistics and genetic print. The culture is also different (allthough less so, given Sweden owned Finland for quite a long period of time).
HoreTore, we have a mission here!
Indeed they don't! Culturally, we have a lot more in common with the krauts and brits than we do with the Finns. Heck, the only reason we have anything in common with them is, as you said, because Sweden oppressed them for a few centuries. It's kinda like saying that the Indians and British are the same....
I propose that we take up the viking raids again!
France has lots of wealth and outstanding women, it's perfect!

Just a short answer though - blonde girls
And you might very well argue that there are blonde girls elsewhere, however, that is due to the viking raids that HoreTore mentioned...

We need to deploy Sasaki into their evil Mafia. I'm sure they'll end up lynching eachother before another such shooting happens again.

Yeah, cause the winter is just HORRID for us Swedish ski instructors!
EDIT: You were not all wrong about the "permanently drunk" part though... But then, it's not so bad sitting down with your guests or friends after a long fun day in the slope, drinking some beer and having a good time :)
That's me BTW, from last season. Just another day at the office ;)
