No, Ludens does not like us talking about blonde women here, they belong in the tavern- not in serious discussions, and he is right.

Bobbin, depends how you define light hair, if you divide in light-Dark with no middle shades the medium would be 50 %. If you count only blond (and where does blond stop and brown begin? look at my pics on my page, am I dark blonde or light brown?), certainly less everywhere even in Finland.

As for invaders wiping out locals, I believe no one since WWII or so have seriously accepted that...

All Scandinavian countries have 8-12 % immigrant population from the Middle East, Denmark has taken steps to slow down further immigration as this group is relatively reluctant to integrate or assimilate and come from a culture so radically different that it causes a lot of trouble.

Thus the growing hostility between "Them" and "Us", though it is of course more complicated than that.

I was speaking of immigrations from us, like in the 4th- 6th and 8th- 11th centuries.

'For months Augustus let hair and beard grow and occasionally banged his head against the walls whilst shouting; "Quinctillius Varus, give me my legions back"' -Sueton, Augustus.

"Deliver us oh God, from the fury of the Norsemen", French prayer, 9th century.

Good work buddy, and to anyone else out there who may be in the same situation as I (i.e. virtually no modding/scripting/skinning skills) and would somehow want to help the team . I look for faces in a not so special way, I just wikipedia a national football team of a nation (i.e. Algerian Football Team), find all the names in the team and just google image them one by one (you can even put parameters on your search to just show faces and what size you require). Depending on the popularity, you can also look up rugby players and even basketballers. Now I know we don't want armies of footballers (or do we....), but you can guarantee reliability in your searches of what you've found, plus the team will be making the final decision so having a large sample size to chose from would help!

You can use the ancient texts. For example the description of the Britons.

    Tacitus Agricola, XI. 1.
    11. Who were the original inhabitants of Britain, whether they were indigenous or foreign, is, as usual among barbarians, little known. Their physical characteristics are various, and from these conclusions may be drawn. The red hair and large limbs of the inhabitants of Caledonia point clearly to a German origin. The dark complexion of the Silures, their usually curly hair, and the fact that Spain is the opposite shore to them, are an evidence that Iberians of a former date crossed over and occupied these parts. Those who are nearest to the Gauls are also like them, either from the permanent influence of original descent, or, because in countries which run out so far to meet each other, climate has produced similar physical qualities. But a general survey inclines me to believe that the Gauls established themselves in an island so near to them. Their religious belief may be traced in the strongly-marked British superstition. The language differs but little; there is the same boldness in challenging danger, and, when it is near, the same timidity in shrinking from it. The Britons, however, exhibit more spirit, as being a people whom a long peace has not yet enervated. Indeed we have understood that even the Gauls were once renowned in war; but, after a while, sloth following on ease crept over them, and they lost their courage along with their freedom. This too has happened to the long-conquered tribes of Britain; the rest are still what the Gauls once were.

This was talked about earlier in this thread and there is even a whole other thread created to keep this one on topic. The veiw I subscribe to (and which is there is increasing genetic evidence for) is that in many cases the population hasn't changed much since the advent of farming in the neolithic. With mass replacement of populations being very rare and most conquests consisting of a small foreign elite imposing itself onto a much larger native population leaving very little impact on the population as a whole. If you wish to discuss it further please use the other thread as we need to keep this one clear.

Sports people in general are excellent choices as the are usually very fit and active, something most soldiers would have been.

I've got a request from the Eb team. A couple of months ago two very good Armenian actors died in a car accident, the both of them were very loved by the Armenians from all around the world. It would be very awesome if you guys could use their faces for Hay soldiers or family portraits.
The actors were called Aram “Garik” Miskaryan and Gegham “Gokor” Ghandilyan. Aram was also world champion and a veteran from the Artsakh war. Gegham was a jazz lover and a jeweler or profession.

And here is a picture of me maybe you can use it too.
