Were you being attacked from all sides??? And are those levy phalanxes? Looks like levy hoplites.

The AI is controlling the phalanx. It barrelled right through me.
Vartan, yes, but Hoplites do fight in a greek style Phalanx-Formation, while the "Phalangitai" you speak of fight in a makedonian style Phalanx-Formation, which is kind of an "update" of the older greek style Phalanx.

Many thanks to Hooahguy for this great sig.
Well, this is going kind of slowly, so I'll throw in mine to see if it prompts others to start posting.

I hate to nitpick, but those are Eleutheroi, not Swêboz. The latter have unique skins for Germanic units, whereas other factions, like the SPQR, use the Eleutheroi ones.
Otherwise, an excellent picture.
Speaking of Romans, could some of you guys please cut out the anti-Roman/anti-whatever spam? It sucks.
Btw. "Romaioi" is plural only.

seconded, most of the greek fanboys don't seem to know Rhomaios is singular... a shame.
And to be even more grammatical correct, if you say: I kill a roman, or whatever it is ton Romaion for singular and tous romaious for plural.
and btw. A screenshot of a roman getting thrown in the air isn't spam
Would a picture of a gaul getting thrown in the air be spam then as well?
Oh, and a last thing, please, if you want to say something in greek, and didn't ever learn it, ask someone for grammar check first :)

Ofc Romaioi is plural: that elephant killed many of them (trust me, i saw it)![]()

Hehehe, in that battle I saw an elephant that fell in the river and drowned.

Yeah it's an old picture and I couldn't really remember which battle it was from, but I assumed it was against the Sweboz based on the units. I guess it was against the Eleutheroi though. I don't think I'll change the name though, as "Breaking the Eleutheroi Battleline" doesn't have much of a ring to it.
I'm glad you like the picture!

Don't make me laugh too hard my friend, it hurts! Haha. But yes, you are right. In any case, as I speak mainly in English I'll just call them phalanxes as there isn't any other word we have. Thanks for the already-ubiquitous Greek word phalangitai
By the way, I vote for the fight on the banks of the Euphrates. Beautiful.

Ehm, what's up vartan. That's why I wrote "Phalangitai" in these " ", because 1. I have no better word for them too and 2. in EB the Macedonian-Style Phalangitai are called "Phalangitai" and the Greek-Style ones are called "Hoplitai" (who, however, still fight in a phalanx-formation).
The only thing that could make my answer THAT funny is the fact, that you edited your post (to which I answered in the first place) today, which makes my answer of course not appropriate anymore![]()
