300 is a wonderful movie based on a good comic.
Is it historically accurate?
No of course not, like every other movie or series based on history or novels that has any intention of being entertaining it takes liberties, but calling whatever you don't like rascist is idiotic. Especially in the climate of modern Britain and Europe where calling somebody a rascist is equivalent to calling somebody a communist under Mcarthyism in the United States
What's so rascist about the timeless theme of a small collection of freemen standing up to an Empire? Nothing that's what.
You really need to read Aescheylus (sp) before saying ANYTHING else about the Persian Wars, the idea that it was superior political systems that offered freedom that had saved Greece is something the ancient Greeks believed themselves.
Ethnocentric?
Once again you have shown your mindless obedience to the Mullahs of Iran. What ethnicity is the United States? Oh what is that they elected a BLACK president? The horrors of that one nazi ethnicly homogenous nation!!!!!!!!!
Ethnocentric? Since when are the Yanks Greeks? Last I checked the 13 colonies were ours untill we sent a couple of agents to throw em away.
For your information 300 was a great hit in Greece, which is pretty east of Washington, it infact did very well in every European country.
There isn't any hint of any modern politics in 300, any politics from the original comic book is long since dead, and as I said the movie was very faithful to it.
Frankly you don't know what rascist or ethnocentric means, I am willing to bet a hundred pounds if you had to provide the definition without benefit of dictionary you would get it wrong.
You know nothing of pop culture, or current events. Now before embarrasing yourself further by quoting Ahmadinejad I strongly suggest you read the Persians, which depicts Xerxes in a very bad light (much worse then 300, his crimes include spitting on his fathers ghost). Are you claiming that someone who is possibly the greatest playwright of all time was part of a vast zionist neocon conspiracy? If so please report to the nearest mental institution for permanent residence.
