EB Online via Gamespy

EB 1.2 can be played online via Gamespy as long as one has not modified one's installation to the point of no return.

In Gamespy, the built-in "Online Battles" multiplayer server accessed via the Multiplayer >> Online Battles menu option, there are three lobbies in which players can chat and host games. They are known as:

• Chat Lobby
• Competitive Lobby
• Friendly Lobby

The Friendly Lobby is by far the most populated as this is where all our friends who play "vanilla" (unmodified) Rome:Total War reside. As for the other two lobbies.... If any of you are aware, Napoleonic Total War 2 is a mod for R:TW that was created by a group known as The Lordz. Most of the players I have met are European and they have in common that they meet and play in the Chat Lobby.

Now, assuming that the newest CA game Napoleon: Total War will unfortunately make the mod NTW2 obsolete, EB players may find it convenient to meet and play in either the Chat or the Competitive lobbies. Please choose one from the two options in this poll.

Also, when entering the lobby on Gamespy, please make sure your username has the prefix [EB] (left bracket, "EB" without quotes, capitalized, right bracket). Although this is in fact unnecessary and need not be formed in such syntax, I figure it is the quickest manner in which one can identify efficiently other EB users who are in the lobby, without having to poll the lobby.
