Just out of curiosity Vartan, have you had a successful game with EB on gamespy yet?
Of course I have. I've played the original Rome:Total War as well as modifications Europa Barbarorum and Napoleonic Total War 2 on Gamespy server. It always work as long as you have not modded your game or modification beyond the point of no return. I define this as any modification that causes the game data to be incompatible (Gamespy will alert you of incompatible data files).

I do not know. I have not been around long enough to be able to accurately illustrate a history of the multiplayer feature of EB. Sorry.

It's cool, it was more of a rhetorical question than anything else.

Maybe because, as the dude was saying, people aren't satisfied with the work done and like to mod their EB to the point of no return.

ForceDiplomacy doesn't upset the files does it? I don't remember installing any other mods than that, so I could be very interested :)

Moreover, I advise that Syracusans must be added to EB (insp. by Cato the Elder )

Is looking forward to the 2090's, when EB 20.0 will be released - spanning the entire Eurasian continent and having no Eleutheroi - with a faction for every independent state instead. Look out for the Gedrosians, the Cretans and the kingdom of Kallatis!

If it doesn't mess with units or anything that comes up in battle, I suppose it would be fine. Don't take my word for it, though; only a test would show if you are correct. Point is, usually, if you change unit cards, models, or anything like that, you can almost be assured that the multiplayer will be troublesome (if it works at all; again, I assume based on what seems to be logical, but test it please).

In any case, I wish y'all the best and hope y'all get 'round to taking a great game, and making it even greater by exploring the depths of having a human opponent. We can be unpredictable, and we can adapt. Enjoy your humanity.
