There's nothing like a major hardware failure or an illness to increase Org participation.
PJ, please don't conflate opposition to your views with personal dislike. I've never met you; how could I dislike you? I suspect this holds true for most people on the Org.

PJ is euro in ancestry, if nothing else. It's just more of MM's pointless race-baiting. I'd give him another warning point if I thought he'd learn from it.
I'm still at the 8200 barrier, but notable achievements...
My book, my MTW threads, my Frontroom threads, Monastery discussions...
Oh dear I miss the old times. Anti Jamster Crusade, those times.
And on the 1st of May I'm going to have my 5 year anniversary.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
Ain't that the truth, I only dislike Tosa, always acting as if he owns the place.
Congratulations, CR. Now hurry up and get to 10,000!![]()
Seriously, though:![]()

"MTW is not a game, it's a way of life." -- drone
Before Secura arrived, I added to the femininity of this board.
This space intentionally left blank.
Good for you CR, that's a lot of quality posts! I'm not sure what my best contribution was; probably adding the first icons/avatars/awards. I think they have added a lot of personality to the site.
Modern civilization is a vast conspiracy against silence
Let's see.... my claims to fame.
When I started here I was a big M2TW player. I was a big advocate of blitz style play, both against lone human opponents and also the AI. I was involved in many different debates on the subject. Then I started posting my blitz campaigns, showing images of what I was able to accomplish with the style, especially the abuse of the Crusade mechanic. I also liked to narrate the quest with funny subtitles. I inspired some other people to attempt the blitz style, and that led to a challenge to see who could accomplish the long victory conditions the fastest. We got it down to like 8 turns or something equally ridiculous, with the HRE, if I recall. I was able to tie but not beat the standing record. Then it was conquering 106 provinces in the least number of turns. After mighty duels, I lost the crown to someone else, Grog, who if memory serves me is still the undisputed blitzmaster of M2TW. He beat me by one turn.... 21 turns he had I think. We agreed it probably could be pushed to 20 but I couldn't put the necessary time into it.
Also of interest was a house rules challenge I posted, which Ramses II CP responded to and made an award-winning AAR based on. https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...-Tyranny-s-End. Basically the objective is to wipe out all the other factions while allying with none of them, not expanding beyond a certain number of provinces that you control with your military, not spreading or advocating religion, and ultimately, defeating the Mongols and the Aztecs and turning every single province rebel/independent. An anarchist's dream, perhaps... an everlasting war for independence. Very difficult game to play.
Then I was part of some epic fun in the M2TW Broken Crescent hotseat started by phonicsmonkey. I earned an award for the short story I created which described the eventual fate of my Royal family in bloodcurdling detail. I've got plenty of scars from a brawl or two in the backroom.
At some point in 2008, I was introduced to mafia games. I've been part of, and I've hosted, a significant number of games. A selection of mafia Games I've hosted:
The Futurama Drama, The Full Monty, The Golden Rule, Psycho Mafia, Murder Manor I, Murder Manor II, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Treehouse of Horror, Resident Evil Omega, The Snatcher, Psycho Mafia II, and The Night Santa Went Crazy.
Of my mafia games I hosted, The Golden Rule was among the most interesting and creative, I understand people had a lot of fun with that one. A game which was filled with the most zany role-playing of them all was the Psycho Mafia. Games which involve some of the most epic deaths was my Murder Manor I and II games. A game which I am particularly proud of, writing-wise, as the Treehouse of Horror. A few of those deaths were my favorite Simpsons-themed deaths out of the three Simpsons games I hosted. By far the funniest one was The Night Santa Went Crazy.
I also hosted Resident Evil: Dark Falls, which is still in progress. Read the story here-
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=123875
Fun begins on post number 6. I consider this (non-mafia) game to be my greatest contribution to the .org so far.
The mafia games are what pushed me from just that blitz guy into something else. Otherwise I probably would have been gone by now since I don't play M2TW anymore. Now I host and play lots of games. Not sure what the future holds, but I would miss the social interaction terribly if I couldn't come here.

I will be short. After all, I have only 1,000 posts. Wandering in the Chapter House and Mead Hall and occasionally visiting the Main Hall. Have a look into these forums for more info.![]()

R.I.P. Tosa...
Congratulations CR!
As for contributions, the times I am most proud of at the .org is the period as Modding Moderator with DJ and then later ER after the release of RTW. The .org had a reputation as the home of modding excellence, and the release of new 3D engine was both exciting and pressurising. Trying both to contribute to and support the hard work, research, cooperation, and gather together all this work into a library of info was hard, but very satisfying when it all came together.
Contributions I've made to the Org?
I think I'm special because I don't get banned easily. This is the 3rd time I wasn't banned when I hit the 3-point limit. At the moment, I have 6 active infraction points, but remain un-banned. Lemur's tryin' real hard, though.
What have I contributed? Well, I've had a few goes at modding (best success was the M2TW Mali faction mod that was then used in DLV(sp?) bigger mod), made my Rise of the Capetians IH, posted a lot in the Citadel.
Apart from that... I bring a healthy dose of Reformation era religion to the Backroom and argue endlessly with PVC on whether or not we are choosing to argue with each other or if its all predetermined.
And I also cause a lot of confusion by randomly satirising different viewpoints. I also do this with my own viewpoints sometimes, even interspersing them in the same thread when I'm using serious arguments, just to really confuse everybody. This has had some funny effects, like leading people into researching through obscure loyalist propaganda sites to discover who the 'Culdees' were.![]()
At the end of the day politics is just trash compared to the Gospel.
That seems like so long ago, you've just reminded me about that thread, can't believe that was 5 years ago. I do miss how active this forum used to be and how people like BKS defined the frontroom as a fun place to be, even if I was too young to appreciate a lot of the threads past the spam ones. I'm not saying the frontroom is bad now, I just miss how active it used to be and how many of the members who have now moved on made it such a fun place. I guess that can be seen as a symptom of the .org as a whole though. I still enjoy the backroom debates though and since I've been active there for the last couple of years I've really enjoyed some quite high end debates, something most forums lack.
As for what I've personally contributed, I can't really say. I guess I've taken more from the .org than I've given back, the backroom has influenced my political belief's quite substantially, as much as a forum can do anyway..

I find my own views have shifted as well. How did yours, tibilicus?
PM if you want, seeing as this would probably go off-topic really fast, I'd prefer it there or in a backroom thread you give me a link to.

my political beliefs cannot be changed. i am a rock of conservatism.
ive become afraid to post in the religious threads because i might be lynched as a catholic and a fear that epopel will excamine my moral character.
First off, well-done CR. :D
Besides a lot of high-school-Republican posts in the Backroom, I've mostly contributed the Freeware/Open Source thread (linked in my sig ;) ) but that's a scam because I never update it and I make you guys contribute stuff. :P That reminds me, though...
