    Thumbs up Tea Party Music

As you may know from my Corporate Anthem thread, I am a big fan of bad music. And I just discovered the Tea Party anthem genre. And I'm in love.

Let's skip the foreplay and go straight to penetration:

(The new board software won't allow more than two embedded movies, so from here on you have to follow links to feel the goodness:

best TEA PARTY RALLY song ever

    The Property Tax Song

AMERICA IS ME - Anthem for "We the People" by Mack Hayes - Tea Party salute (this one may be my favorite)

Yankee Doodle ~ Tea Party Mix! Pumped Up

Obamanation - obamacare healthcare kill the elderly rationing national socialism nazi

If I didn't have to visit a client this morning, I would need to spend the rest of the day savoring all of this fantastic musical badness ...

See, this highlights the entire problem with the Tea Party movement, this shows that they are just angry, populist (ex)Republicans. True libertarians would never accept this music, it's too obvious that the musicians are not on any good drugs.

The problem with these songs/videos is they preach to the choir. I can't see anyone being swayed by such goofy lyrics and even sappier images who doesn't wear an American Flag Snuggie. Once upon a time these songs might have rung true, but in today's world where everything is so carefully staged to project the right symbolism, they feel shallow.

Well those are the youtube musicians. Also it seems like most musicians are liberal, except for country singers. They'd be better off with this as the tea-party anthem in my opinion:

There is no "problem" with these songs; they are glorious examples of bad music, a genre which I happen to love. They're splendid in their awfulness. Stop looking at them as political vessels and see what they really are: cultural artifacts of shame.

Think about all of the amazingly bad music lost in time due to the lack of YouTube in 1968. It's enough to make a lemur cry.

    Yes!

See, that's what dissapoints me in this music. It's not the politics - beaten to death and not for this thread at any rate. No, it is that it feels so misplaced. It reaches back to misplaced or obsolete symbolism. It is civil rights / 1968 songs meets Disney patriotism meets Christian rock. We need something new!

Isn't the tea party movement heavily influenced by "returning to the lost golden age" (that never really existed) rethorics? I'm not sure if anything else than old school country patriotic music really fits that thought. Libertarains realizing that they strive for something that is in reality new might go for more modern music.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

And here I thought tea party music was a bunch of little girls singing nursery rhymes.

Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

Inspired to find the original by the latest Herman Cain ad. This one's got fairly high production values:

Do you forget that the Tea Party is not a religious organization that goes around blowing buildings up. Honestly Strike, you are the most race obsessed person I have ever/never met. It really is not healthy to the mind to only be able to see things through the lens of race. You are like the Marxists who go around explaining every event in human history as a class struggle, only with you it is a racial struggle. Seriously man, chill the heck out. If you think Americans (or at least the majority white population and any conservative minorities) are a bunch of racist arseholes, why don't you go to Iraq or Mexico and see what type of racial equality you will find there.
