See? Britain and Netherlands tried to force Iceland to give up their money, and this is what you get. Take the lesson, don't mess with Iceland!!

And in the process annihilate part of Iceland?? Before the effects are equivalent, volcanic Icelanders will have drowned in their own lava.

That's a correct sentence. It can be shortened to "the baltic states and Slovakia." That's why there's a comma before the second and, and also the second and itself. Best sentence in a long while.

Also what does skrür mean? I get the rest of the blackmail note, but don't get that word.

Anyway, what do you think would happen if the vulcano would keep up those ash clouds for a year or simular? Considering its crippling effects on airflights.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

    skrur=slår then.

I blame the lack of grammar. Didn't get og correctly (red it as or). So the message said: "Give us money or we turn off the vulcano". That made it a very stupid blackmail letter.

Interesting how the cloud manages to cover the whole of Britain and Northern Ireland, but misses the Republic.

It also misses out France but for that tiny corner where Calais is, which is virtually little England. The French may now be worse cooks than the English, but it seems they've got God on their side.

Pft, God by now has learned He doesn't mess with Gaul heathens, or we'll burn even more Catholics.

Emissions have no effect on climate. Planes have been grounded even without erupting vulcanoes, which means this vulcano is not the cause of the current airtraffic breakdown. You are only writing this as a scheme for more government control. I've hacked your emails and in 2004 you wrote about a magician's show '...went up in a puff of smoke, a cool trick...', which means your information in this thread is falsified.

Does this block flights from DC to Germany? I wonder if this delays MRD's deployment even longer.

Since Iceland has no army, someone should really invade them and shut down their volcanoes for good; then we'll see who's tough.

As someone who knows a bit about language, the attempt at writing something Icelandic-like looks really poor. The Icelandic word for "police" is actually 'lögregla', and the letter "ü" is not at all in the Icelandic alphabet. It should also have been "við" and not "vi"; and the "þ" looks really misplaced.

That's just the little one. Wait till it's nearby big brother wakes up, they usually erupt in tandem. It's going to get a bit cooler round here and the ferry & train operators are going to love all the extra business.

There has been the odd flight to America but mostly the flights are cancelled because there is nowhere for the planes to go to.

Were sitting in a nice high pressure area the weather has been lovely these last few days the sun is shinning I suppose the high pressure is keeping back the low pressure area where the ash has covered.

"Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

What is funny, is that the volcano has caused more damage than the debt they possess.

Which begs the question: Does the world need Iceland? Time for Atlantis II. We'll get the guy who did Inconvenient Truth.

Maybe if we station enough Marines there we can get the island to capsize.

I hate him with every fibre of my being. I switched off an episode for the first time since Sylvester McCoy last week. They redesigned the Daleks.

(I think this is known as derailing the thread. I have banned myself but will return in a Christmas special).

The ash cloud now covers the whole of Ireland plus the Scottish highlands, but most of Britain is clear. How do we interpret religious and political orthodoxy in light of these new developments? NB. the cloud seems to be moving towards Canada.
