After the second set of group games, tiebreaker updates:
1: Total Goals Scored in Tournament (not including shootout PKs): 69
2: Total Number of Red Cards (straight up or 2 yellows) in Tournament: 8
3: Golden Boot winner: Gonzalo Higuaín (3)
4: Wooden Spoon "winner": North Korea
5: Number of shanked PKs by England (missed, not saved, in game and in shootouts): 0

Better scoring in the second round of games, we are now at 2.16 goals per game, up from 1.56 from the first set of games. I'll post the updated bracket scores after the final games on Friday.

I have to say that I don't agree with this; they may have been drubbed 7-0, but they have scored a goal and gave Brazil a very good game; they're also in a very tough group where they're unhighly likely to come out with anything at all. On the other hand, Honduras haven't gotten off the mark yet with points or goals yet, haven't looked likely to either; the scorelines of both games have flattered them, because Spain and Chile both should have scored alot more than they did. They're in a fairly open group in my opinion; you'd expect Spain to top it, but beyond that, the other three teams are on relatively equal footing compared to the Group of Death.

Just my own opinion, though.

I'm just going by group points, then goal diff, then goals scored. And anything can happen in the final set of games. I seriously doubt this contest will be decided at Wooden Spoon.

Good predictions by Secura for the quarter- and semi-final results gets her into the lead, with woad&fangs just behind. Obviously, those hours spent playing FIFA Manager have paid dividends. They both have Spain for the winner, so anyone with Holland and 62+ points still has a chance. Which apparently means just me.
