I'd say Caesar because he's always been a fascinating figure to me and so I'd like to meet him. Alexandros for similar reasons, and I'd like to hear one of Cicero's speeches - Ideally the first Catilinarian speech. I'd like to meet Mithridates VI too, provided I didn't have to ingest or imbibe anything while around him. Maybe see if he could give me the ingredients to Mithridatium. -M

Precisely. You're a Roman Catholic. Why would you want to meet Jesus?
I'd have more reason to meet him, being of a church adhering to standards and whatnot closer than any other to His own.

You would have the possibility to chose between for example the stoic Zenon of Kition or the hedonist Epikouros :)

I think it's the Ancient Arabic Lord's Prayer. I recognise "Amin", which seems close enough to "Amen". "Malik" is "King" in modern Arabic, and it's about the same length...and since we're talking about Jesus, eh.

I'd like to meet the historical Buddha, Siddharta Gautama. Or perhaps Ananda, if he would be unavailable.

Personally I would like to meet either Vercingetorix and tell him not to go to Gergovia or Cassivellaunus and tell him to build a large and well trained navy before 56BC.

Plutoboyz how exactly does your plan work?

Andronikos wasn't Archimedes solar beam weapon disproven in an episode of "Mythbusters"?

I've heard about that solar weapon too, and I wonder if it's true at all. The weapon was invented (feel free to speculate as to where it was invented, there's no need to make certain any information on what might as well be fantasy for the majority) and was used against the Chinese (I'm not sure if they have any official reports on it), but this was in the last century. Also, I don't think it worked exactly the same as the presumably exaggerated Archimedes account.

Just don't tell Caesar why you're there.

I'd like to meet Plato. Just to ask him to not use dialogues to explain his ideas. All it does is leave me wanting to argue with men who have been dead for thousands of years because they never included a counter-argument that was worth a damn.
As for hanggliding over a city; surely Knossos.

Well, Plato's a bit out of the EB time period, but I suppose I went outside of the boundaries by including Alexander. I guess I'll add Socrates to my list as well. It'd be awesome to have a glass of wine with him - either that or extremely frustrating. -M

Lol, every single church claims to be adherin' to standars closer to Jesus own's standars than any othe chuirches... thus it's pointless to say it! as every other churches are closer than every otehr!

Certainly if we go outside the EB timeframe I would like to meet my namesake. I would love to remove Rome from history, unless of course I didn't exist in an alternate timeline or my present lot was significantly worse than it is now in which case... Roma Victoria!

Jesus you say? Hmmm I heard that over time his miracles became exaggerated...

Hmmm I think I would go back in time to just walk through the city of Athens/Carthage/Rome/etc, not particularly keen on meeting anyone specific but merely to soak up the surroundings.

Siddharta Gotama, Sakyamuni Buddha, the Historical Buddha, an Indian Kshatriya prince who lived around 500 BC. He pretty much "founded" Buddhism.

Ah, thank you for the lesson. My knowledge of Asia is rather patchy until pretty much the 20th Century, some parts (Indonesia, Siberia, the Turkic nations) are complete mysteries to me.

Spartacus. Possibly have a long conversation with him about revolution, liberty, human rights and the like.Perhaps carry a Latin translation of Marx's communist manifesto with me. Wonder if that could change History significantly back then.

I doubt Spartacus was the Che Guevara of antiquity as people make out, probably just a desperate man. I think you would have better luck with Vercingetorix.
