I think I'm out, August is already winding down and I just got Victoria II, which is sucking up all of my time right now...
Maybe sometime in the future, when I've moved past this addiction and come back to EB.
from Megas Methuselah, for some information on Greek colonies in Iberia.

Yea man why are you wasting your time with Victoria II? The "knowledgable" aspects of it are all great, but how can you devote your time to such a game when at the moment of conquest, it all depends on Atari-based renditions and superfluous computations? Send that baby back to Gamestop A.S.A.P. and meet us up @ the tourney man! Either that, or trade it in for Starcraft 2 and see me on the net! What's Victoria II?

Pahlava for me, please.
Also, hello again to all the people here, I've been unable to follow any EB MP stuff for a long time (and probably won't be soon either).

It's a Paradox game, like Europa Universalis or Hearts of Iron, except set in the Victorian era (1836-1936). It's real time grand strategy, but no battle mode like total war. However in terms of economics, politics, diplomacy, etc, it's a lot of fun.
To be honest, I didn't think I would like it that much either, but I'm addicted. I don't really miss the battles because the other aspects of the game are so in depth that if I had to play the battles out, the game would take forever. I'll always come back to Total War though, I always have before.
Personally, I'm not a Starcraft fan. I liked the Warcraft rts series, but I'm just not enough of a sci-fi person for Starcraft, and to be honest, I don't really like traditional rts games that much anymore.

It sounds like Europa Universalis. I wanted to enjoy that game but it was so complicated and hard to figure out. I presume the team who made it didn't have somebody to make sure the game was gamer-friendly.
I was also formerly a major RTS fan, but ever since Total War, Real Time Tactics has been much more enjoyable and conductive to twists and turns than RTS. There virtually always seems to be patterns discernible in RTS titles, while the RTT titles easily turn out differently each battle due to varying patterns of approach (at least vis-à-vis multiplayer).Personally, I'm not a Starcraft fan. EDIT: The OT talk such as this in this thread is not a problem at the moment, luckily enough, solely due to the fact that it is almost the end of the month and network member turnout has been at an all time low.
