Technically if you want the kings of aengland you should have elfred and his line as well.
After the saxons were vanqiushed in 1066 it became another satellite of the normans.

I figured 1603 would be more pendantically accurate.
A foreign king, James VI, took over England (and Ireland). 1688 was more of a mutiny (or is it barratry?) for a change of management for all three combined kingdoms. The English and Scottish Parliaments had more say in the matters at that point, and elected the new "CEO" as it were, bringing in high priced foreign talent to take over. The selection of the Hanovers with the Act of Settlement was done in a similar fashion. Arguably, the English Parliament was the real power in the country, so no conquering was achieved.
