I have a new system with Windows 7 and I just installed MTW Gold Edition and I found the VI v2.01 patch. Whenever I try to load the patch it says that I don't have MTW installed?
Can anyone help me?

For the MTW Gold Edition, I think you need a different patch than if you have VI separate. Try the MTW-Gold.zip in the MTW patches downloads section.

What is the patch and installation order if I have a boxed copy of MTW and a copy of the VI expansion? Do I patch MTW after installation or install MTW and VI and do the 2.01 patch?

For you, the order would be: MTW, then VI, then the 2.01 patch.
