Not that there's anything wrong with that.

So much coffee wasted I fully aplaud a standing ovation
An ODE? Of fewer lines than a sonnet? With mixed meter and limping scansion? For shame.....
Anyway, here's a sonnet.
The Jester and Le Cowboy
His words, sharper still than any epee
Witty, yet also gentle and gentile
Laugh author, yet only slightly outre
His jests piquant, but at his core tranquil
Our cher Louis, in two tongues may play
Champion of "King's" and L'Academie
Our cher Louis, "all in jest" some may say
But wit's the tool of Le Bard de Paris
Yet stranger still the connection -- la chaine
Entre Louis and Strike -- two now one pair?
Knitting the Rio Brazos with La Seine
Entre Texas and France -- that's just not fair!
Never and always, jamais et toujours
We're stuck with them both, so en garde et encore!
"The only way that has ever been discovered to have a lot of people cooperate together voluntarily is through the free market. And that's why it's so essential to preserving individual freedom.” -- Milton Friedman
"The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule." -- H. L. Mencken
In our midst, we had a poet.
All this time, we did not know it.
"If there is a sin against life, it consists not so much in despairing as in hoping for another life and in eluding the implacable grandeur of this one."
Albert Camus "Noces"
Needs more fleur-de-lis.
This space intentionally left blank.
There once was an Orgah named Louis,
Exuding panache for all to see,
Although he came from France,
He got into Strike's pants,
And the man from Texas says, Oui Oui!
