It is actually a baby squirrel!

I didn't know that they were so destructive until I moved into my current house. Now I hate them. #5525 was only granted clemency due to his cute factor being off the charts.

Now I have to decide whether I want to keep him or let him go in the country.

Note that it might not be legal to keep it as a pet. I'm not sure what the regulations are where you live though.

Squirrels are just furry tailed rats. Grey ones, anyways. They can be very destructive, they will tear up wood siding, fascia boards, porch screens, decking, etc. I took down many as a teenager, and even now I have to protect the homestead every once and a while. A nice air rifle does the trick in residential areas...

I'm curious to see how this boils out. I returned home recently to find that an unknown creature has eaten away the heat and air tubing under my house after chewing through the outside barrier by the air conditioner. It makes lots of noise at night, and stays right under my bedroom, sounds like it is trying to come through the floor after me. I'm trying to avoid crawling down there with a buckshot pistol, but so far all other options have failed.

You could call some rednecks. They love to eat squirrels.

Here it is martins that eat cars.

Skunks and weasels have also been known to destroy the underside of houses.

But MRD is right about them good ol’ boys. You need local help. Or you could try a bird feeder and a shotgun.
