If you are so scared, it might be worth it investing in some sort of weapon, namely a knife (or otherwise stabby-pointy thing) or (if you don't mind being called names by your friends) a taser (TZZZZZZT).

remember to check your back whenever you are on or near a hard surface, lest he knock your head into it after suckerpunching you.

You could learn to fight well, get some tips on the internet, and play dirty if you have to. Stairwells are tricky, and if you fall down, keep your head up and you should be alright. Dont let yourself be phased at a punch, even one to the groin, and you will demoralize them.

I miss fighting...

lol Warman, you need more than knowledge to defend yourself. Take up the serious practice of a martial art (one that has a lot of full contact practice), devout yourself to it, and in a few months you will stand a better chance.

In a few years, you will have nothing to worry about. :)
