    Lightbulb Washington

    WASHINGTON

Yes, that is right. We have finally received our own thread. Washington, the greatest of all the states of the entire United States has at long last been granted its own thread. For long, we Washingtonians have lain dormant, not seeking the attention of others, accepting our role as the sole State that keeps the United States together quietly. Unlike others, like the Texans who constantly come for attention, we Washingtonians spend our time working for the good of all. However, the time has come for Washington, the Greatest Of The States, to be given its own appreciation thread for all the amazing work it has done to keep the United States afloat.

Washington is the proud home of everything that makes the United States great. WE are the home of the mighty Microsoft Corporation. Where would everyone in the entire world be without the Microsoft Corporation? You would not even have a computer. Without Washington (Bow before Washington!) those petty Texans would not even have the internet, indeed they would not even have a computer with which to beg for attention! Washington (Bow before Washington!) is the site of Boeing, the largest airplane manufacturer in the entire world. Where would any American be without Boeing? There would be no air transportation - can anyone imagine a globalized economy without air transport? There would be no Air Force - how would we defend ourselves from the hordes of inferiors without an Air Force? Everyone on this forum owes their lives, indeed their very existance to Washington (Bow before Washington!).

What has Texas, the archetypical inferior State, ever done for the Union? Nothing. Does Texas export anything? No. Oh wait, actually they do. They export - Illegal Immigrants! All Texas does is detract from everyone else. But they are not alone: every State in the Union leeches off of Washington's Greatness. They should be grateful for us, that we are able to support all 309, 000, 000 of them. And yet Texas, pointless as it is, has a thread of its own. Not only that, but this thread is stickied. This is just insane. If Texas can have a sticky, then Washington (Bow before Washington!) shall too.

Now, all shall be able to express their joyous gratitude towards Washington! In this thread, all inferiors may adequately display their affection towards the gracious and kind People of Washington. All things related to the Glory and Honor of Washington (Bow before Washington!) shall be discussed in this official Washington Appreciation Thread.

The rules of the Washington Appreciation Thread are simple:
    • All inferiors who dare to utter "Washington State" shall be destroyed. Nonconformism will not be tolerated.

    • All inferiors who dare to refer to the District of Columbia as "Washington" shall be destroyed. Nonconformism will not be tolerated.

    • All inferiors who fail to express adequate appreciation toward Washington shall be destroyed. Nonconformism will not be tolerated.

    • All who dare to question the Greatness of Washington shall be destroyed. Nonconformism will not be tolerated.

Bow before the Greatness of the Kind and Generous People of the Glorious State of Washington!

I love DC. Lots of history, tourist sites, places to hang out, a subway system that's only mildly irritating, plus it's only a 2.5 hour drive from NJ/Philadelphia.

Oh yea, DC. I love it too. I even want to work there when I grow up and work in the FBI.

The state of Washington is way too rainy. Plus it doesnt have the rich history that Texas has.
And its not in the south.
    Which automatically makes Washington inferior.
    Sorry.

Plus Texas doesnt have the blatant racists Washington apparently has.

    Geordie?

My attack upon Texas is part of a cleverly thought out strategy to get this thread stickyed. If I can prove Washington is better than Texas (Which it is!) then they must sticky this thread. Also included in this strategy is including a request for a sticky in every single post, just as SFTS did in the Texas thread, with good results.

    Somebody sticky this thread, please!

What is the consensus for stickying this thread, beside populus? Will it live a short life or live up to the splendor of the Texas thread?

Been to DC four times in my life, each visit was better than the last. Fun times, plus i don't think i've ever found chinese food that good anywhere else. In fact it's making me miss it just thinking about it.

This is one I wouldn't really be proud of. Microsoft's business decisions have ever been against progress in the computer industry.

The first home computer I ever used was a TI-99A. TI stands for Texas Instruments, btw. And I believe the Apple ][ (my first PC) was made in Cali.

Center bottom. Anyone familiar with early Microsoft OSes knows networking was an anathema to the Redmond programmers.

Washington can claim grunge and Starbucks, so I guess it's not a total loss.

Dude, it's not exactly in Washingtonian nature to boast. We don't want more Californians coming here.

It would seem the consensus to sticky this thread is unanimous, as voted by populus and populus alone...not worth of a sticky.

    Now this is sound advice.
