everybody hates Poland, their unit rooster coupled with their campaign area, and considering how bad their neighbouring faction's potential economy are, they are pretty well hated if you play against them, they are overpowered in M2TW, and most mods as well. Plus they backstab Hungary everytime

but in Empire, they are pretty lovable, challenging starting position, near ever steamrolling Russians and their western neigbours start pretty strong, that only Ottomans being easy opponents early on.

It depends on what game you play (I think we'll hate Poland in Darth Mod, since they are ridiculously easy to play)

Things were going swimmingly in my Novgorod/Early campaign, I had the East from Lithuania to Khazar, trade cruising along, and was plotting against the Hungarians in Kiev to consolidate my borders. And the Poles jumped the gun and attacked, with crap troops, and they didn't even fight the battle but withdrew with their tails between their legs. Alliances sundered, a complete mess because of foolish Polish pride. Now I have to pummel them instead of teching up for the Horde.

Just pump out HA and let em become pin-cushions, finish them with Axemen
when the horde coming up, your force will be on par with them, but beware against ever pesky overpowered Polish Nobles with armour piercing javelins, not to mention Hussars, that shred anything they touch...
