    Default African Elites

    Hi,

I would like to see the sources you used when you made the Elite African Pikemen and the Elite African Infantry. And you say Polybius called them the flower of the carthaginian army? Can you tell me the sources of this? Not meaning to be rude or anything, I just wanna see them.

    Cheers

nice forum post with sources to back up his claims. There seems to be some speculation as to whether the Phalanx is a hoplite base or phalangite based. Anyhoo i hope you enjoy.

That thread is merely decent. The amount of work and research that went into EB1 units has been at least doubled by the amount of work that has gone into EB2 units. You can be assured that new unit descriptions which appear will be much more revealing on the sources and historicity of our units.

Which style of citations should we expect on the description texts?

I enjoyed some of scythian units descriptions, because it admitted to lots of conjecture, but also showed the thought process that went into why this helmet was chosen, this cuirass, etc.

there are many skythian information from grave sites and even some evidence that there where major nomadic setlements numbering hundreads of thousands so the military equipment can be easy to trace at least for the nobles while the rest where mainly horse archers and horse riders wich since they don´t have much in terms of equipment aren´t historically inacurate
