Hmmm. Tough choices. It'd be easy to pick the best musician in each category, but the mix would be so strange. Better to pick favourite's in each category.

    Vocals: Ramases (Martin Raphael)/Brian Eno
    Lyrics: Ramases/Peter Sinfield/Brian Eno
    Lead Guitar: Eddie Hazel
    Rhythm Guitar: Roky Erickson
    Bass Guitar: Billy Cox
    Synths: Brian Eno
    Piano/Organ: Richard Wright
    Drums: Buddy Rich

Indeed. I've been thinking of my picks, and while individually they are some of my favorite musicians, when tossed together in one band they would produce some really strange stuff. So for the lulz:

    Vocals - Maynard James Keenan
    Lead - Justin Broadrick
    Bass - Les Claypool
    Drums - Bill Rieflin
