Default Someone explain this logic to me.

The 4th Amendment protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures. This does not apply when it comes to your boss because you signed a voluntary contract, thus things like urine and blood samples are technically legal without your consent.

This is where people lose me.

Your car and your body can be searched at any time your are driving outside of your own private property because you are voluntarily using public roads. Or the public sidewalk.

How the hell else are you supposed to get around with out somehow using the roads? I walk across the street to get to my neighbor, am I supposed to have a helicopter in order to protect myself from a search and seizure right there in the middle of the public street?

What really is "voluntary" and what really is within your control?

the question is....what kind of business are you engaging in with your neighbor that a search and seizure would be a concern???? uhmmm???

as to the main point...can´t really answer....your constitution is written is too much of a silly, unclear way 4 it to be worth my time discussing.

Things like this is not permitted he, with the exception for drug checks for businesses where this would be a real problem(like bus drivers or the military). I do believe you have the option of resigning instead of taking such checks though...

This sounds more like circumvention of your constitution, and circumvention of laws always leads to weird stuff. IMO, the fourth amendment does not allow stuff like this. However, your populqtion might decide that it is ok; but in that case they should officially change the constitution instead of doing it in this silly way. Of course, this gets difficult because a large portion of the populstion treats the constitution like a perfect and holy text that shouldn't be changed under any circumanstance because it is so awesome(tm)... That's the attitude that is to blame for nonsensical searches, not "control happy" government officials.

    That.

This forum clearly shows how you can swing from one end of the political scale from the other (me supporting HoreTore).

Americans often treat The Constitution as if it was some holy scripture rather than the OK-so-what-are-we-gonna-do-now-guys text it really is.

I guess that is because people from the united states of A have a history going as far back as.. a couple of years before that was written. For Americans it is the birth of the nation, history flapping its wings in your face and all that.

For Europeans the constitution is more like a "meh".

I don't even want to indulge in what the Chinese would think of it.

Few are born with it, even fewer know what to do with it.

I don't believe your person or car can be searched without either your consent or with probable cause. If you are using public roads, the manner in which you use them are subject to the laws of your locality, but your car is an extension of your house as far as search and seizure is concerned.

    What's this all about, anyway?
