ok, I just grumbled when I notice how some health & massage parlors opened here, actually do much more than healthy massages. Yeah, they do, err... well, it's their business anyway. but... usually here, massage parlors including health club (spa, pool, sauna, aromatheraphy, herbal theraphies, etc), and they offers all of the professional healthcare services at rather cheap prices...

well, I just wanna say that GOD DAMMIT, why? with same services offered (pool, sauna, aromatheraphy, herbal, and health massages), with the same price, those who offer only professional theraphy (non prostitution ones), are actually MORE Expensive, than those who you can get free XXX stuffs inside? hell yeah, it's much more expensive, professional health parlor without XXX stuffs cost about Rp 700000,- ($70) per day of total cares, and with the same degree of health services quality, the ones who you can have sex with the theraphists inside for free (that was the "bonus", free of charges), cost about Rp 400000,- ($40) per day of total cares....

damn it, I wonder what was inside my fellow countrymen's mind? as they sold women for $-30 ? $-30! NEGATIVE VALUE!!!

did anyone has another ridiculous pricings in health parlors in their own countries/places? that was actually exploiting a legal loophole in Indonesian anti-prostitution law. Exchange of sex for money is forbidden, but exchange of money for health services is legal, and they said sex is free bonus for clients.... doh...

    end rant...

P.S: Don't say anything about this outside this backroom please, I don't want my sincere concern of this act being misinterpreted... yeah... especially you who know me better than on the ORG level... just don't said anything about this outside the org. you can PM for details...

well, it's actually they willing to have smaller cost/profit margin, in exchange of better transaction freqwencies, and they do well. But hell, why are legal, law abiding health parlors are unwilling to decrease their cost/profit margins? If they want to maximize profit per consumer's session, it's actually counter productive as consumers will seek those with cheaper price at small quality margin. Or, maybe the real, trained proffesional health theraphists charges more than sex workers.

And, hell, that proves some kind of slavery are still here... And women are regarded cheaply. It's funny... But not funny... Ironic...

Maybe its because the regular health parlors hire people who know how to help people get healthy and the other type only hire prostitutes who know how to rub someones back?

    That's it.

Someone who spent 3 years to get a bachelor in therapy is going to cost you more than someone who desperatly needs money and has no other job opportunity than the sex trade.

Well if ya don't survive your health parlor visit make sure your last wish is to have the funeral conducted in Taiwan.

Now that's a funeral your family & friends won't ever forget, lovely custom indeed. Heck, I bet some people go and don't even know the deceased.

Finally, a subject I am an expert on.

Legitimate massage parlors charge more because, since they are legitimate, they abide more diligently to regulations, licensing procedures, continued education, etc. Getting a massuese license is easy. Marketing yourself and a pro and staying up to date in professional associations, etc, is not.

Sleazy massage parlors,on the otherhand, hold a special place in my heart. Sometimes, a guy just needs a nice girl who barely speaks English with whom to talk politics, life and love.

And on a related note, Bagram Air Field, Salerno and Sharana FOBS in Afghanistan have massage services. Unfortunately, "I would like a blue berry muffin" does not mean the same thing as it does in Tulsa.

No. They are legit, though. The girls giving the massage won't even talk to you, they leave the curtain halfway open, and when the massage is done they are out the room before you can even attempt to tip. You have to pay at the cash register. And there are giant signs warning UCMJ for blueberry muffins

and, after checking about usual "xxx" prices with my "bad boy" friends... and cross-checked with internet sources about prices here and overseas, I'm left a bit confused, and also ashamed, that prostitution prices in Indonesia are very very cheap compared with another countries... (only some africans and south americans have equally lower prices)

man... the average price of mid tier brothel is under $12 for sexual intercourse, what the hell? and low tier prices are horribly cheap, I lost my words to said that...

(I just hope our politicians stop being hypocrite, and start to do Dutch system of regulations, at least that kind of business should be taxed)

Abdolute numbers are not helpful - at least for me. What does a nurse earn for a shift? If 10 hours of backbreaking work is the same money as bobbing on some bloke's knob for 30 minutes then why not do the latter and have the rest of the day off? Few blokes are going to get the choice of occupation.

I agree that legalise and tax is the answer to most questions. Pretending it doesn't exist / trying to police it to destruction very rarely works.

You're ignoring exchange rate differences. If everything is comparatively cheaper you can get the same quality for less. Hence why people go to have surgery abroad, and there is so much interest in holidays in certain parts of Thailand.

True, but my comment was in the context of CW's comment. Apparently that's inexpensive to him too.

and the price of girls are utterly cheap here...

    Fair point.

I guess one can review the physical appearance and screen on that, it is the potential for underlying disease that is the main problem. Hep C would be the one would be concerned with. Hep A/B one can have immunisations and even HIV one can take pre-emptive antiretrovirals.

Indonesia is islands at the tropic, and their climate unsuitable for cattle breeding, it's simple logic that beef costs a lot more. Try compare that with poultry or more drastically, fish.

Sex trafficking would be bringing them here, terrorizing them, and locking them up in someone's basement. What you're referring to is much worse than what the subject here is.

There were similar cases of modern day slavery here in the DC area.
