Not if I can help it. I'm Mak, the prices are borked and Mak has never worked that great at 36K (They are imba at 40K).

Actually I take back my statement, if some small fixes to the levy phalanx and some other stuff applies, Mak should be on par with other factions.

Macedon is a great faction except for the fact they dont have good cheap line infantry.

Well Deuteroi are too expensive compared to panda. Me and Lazy tested and there is no noticeable difference between the two except that Panda fares better i melee due to the axe. With guard off, Deuteroi lose to Panda. Stat-wise, Deuteroi are technically superior, but this doesn't bear itself out in battle scenarios.

Also, shouldn't Deuteroi be either considerably better or at least cheaper than Panda? These were Greeks fighting for Greeks, not a foreign levy with very few ties or allegiances to their alien overlords.

And by alien I mean foreign of course.

True, but in life-or-death combat, everybody fights to the best of their ability. Motivation should be reflected in morale, not fighting skill. The Deuteroi represent a levy of not-very-affluent land-owners that was only called in times of extreme danger. I doubt they were particularly well-trained or experienced.

I'm talking about morale mainly. Panda had little to lose in battle except their lives. Deuteroi would lose their homes if fighting an invader.

Im pretty sure the Panda was not a simple begger on a street and had a home worth defending but I agree they should have lower morale.

Well yes, but the Panda would be Syrians, Babylonians, Persians, etc. The victorious army would be simply looking to overthrow the ruling Greek dynasty and then draft those same Pantadapoi into THEIR army. Deuteroi had cultural ties to the ruling class.

You guys know nothing about the panda, its sad really.

The main issue with Maks is they won't win a fight where there are scary units supporting phalanx unless they take Hysteroi or silvershields.

I seem to have forgotten to put up the Makedon discussion...

Pezh might deserve higher morale, but the discipline cut was to make sure they actually rout when surrounded, which they werent really doing before unless a scary was present.

Wrong thread ;-). Please discuss this in one of the EDU threads.

The thing about discipline IIRC is that they aren't effected by non-disciplined routers. So it tends to be a rout-splosion. :\

Munky I assure you, Makedon will be made more playable with the next patch, as will Epeiros, there will be a Deuteroi fix to make them worth their additional cost compared with pandas.

Kival if you want romans choose them i can change faction only point is that someone have to choose them in every tourney they must be most playable faction in all tourney :DDD
