That isn't possible, custom avatars are not allowed.

    Well this isn't entirely correct.
You should be able to upload a custom avatar but people have to change there settings to see those avatars.

The TW-avatars are a part of the .Org style with a bit of a philosophy behind it. Every once in a while someone suggest to be done with it and allow avatars uploaded by the members themselves but so far the TW-avatars were always backed by a majority.

There are avatars, and then there are profile pics. You can select in your preferences which one (or both) you want to see in threads, this only affects how you see the board, not others. But the profile pic can be uploaded/customized. In my info here:
    <--------------------------
if you are just seeing a robed assassin, you only have avatars selected for viewing. If you see the Dude, you have profile pics selected.

Right now, custom avatars are essentially an opt in program. If you disable avatars from showing but enable seeing profile pics, you basically get what a custom avatar set up would be. Those that do not have a custom profile pic have their avatar show up, so you still get a nice picture to associate with every person.

I never realised you could turn off avatars, so now all I see is the custom profile pic, or what really is the avatar.

I think the system as drone explained it is the best system possible for the board and I fully support those changes. Keeps the board nice, clean and stylised while giving those who want more custom/random elements to have the choice to have those.
